Zoifio: Sample images looks like film scans . Not close to images from Eos RF 85 1.2L or Sony GM 85 1.4

Compare images No 49 & No 50 of the Nikon Z 35 1.8S gallery and those from here and you will see what I'm talking about. Images of the Z 85 1.8S gallery have noise (film like) , lack of sharpness and colors (post processing) that reminds me of Kodak Portra 160 film. ( By the way I liked it and used it alot... the Kodak Portra 160 film).

Fao91: @Rishi or someone:
“Every single F2.8 shot in that series is back focused (I only fired the shutter as she was approaching), meaning focus was playing catch up. Meanwhile all my F1.8 shots were relatively spot on.”
Why is that?

Is it possible that this is "focus shift" , spherical aberrations? With DSLR 's this is a problem with some lenses . (Canon EF 50 1.2 L , Tamron 24-70 VC G1 etc) I don't Know how AF works in the mirrorless world

It 's interesting to compare side by side RF85 1.2 no:24 vs Samyang no:39 and 23vs37.

Well ,this lens is a great ...tool. I remember a professional photographer with a dozen of Nikon cameras and lens who also had an Eos 5DIII just to be able to shoot with the EF 50 1.2L . It's nice to see new lenses like this one, it's good for the competition, it's good for the ability to take better pictures.

Zoifio: I think that the focus is at the lower building at the foreground ( air-conditions fans) . If I'm right then it's not that haze at 1.8 at the focus point.

Barney , I believe that you focus in the center but that doesn't mean that the camera nail focus. Next time try to focus with magnifier to be sure about focus. I check it again and again and I'm sure about my notification. If you look at the panels before the fans you can easily see moire. This is not a case for the panels at the communication disks. We all know that moire is appears at lines which are in focus.

Very sharp at 1.2 but there is something awkward in photo No 17.... the outer space of the photo has more DOF than the center.(check the sea and the green leafs)

Stigg: Finally some real photographs that give us an insight into the daily lives of others - and in a timeless medium - not a sanitized electronic medium that is rapidly obsoleting itself into a mass of meaningless 1s and 0s. Will any of the 1s and 0s currently in storage still be viewable in - or even exist - in 75 years? You know the answer to that question.

And there is no contradiction or irony in viewing these 75 year old masterpieces on a digital computer screen - none whatsoever. This graphically illustrates the universal nature of film vs the ephemeral nature of electronic mediums. If properly cared for the originals will still be viewable with light in another 75 years - or in any new mediums of the future.

I feel very strongly about film since it has been the centerpiece of my vocation/avocation for over 40 years now and will continue to be. The 100mp back featured here is just another digital "device." As someone mentioned - it will be found at a garage sale in 20 years.

Sebastiao Salgado shoots Canon DSLR but save the digital files as film also.
Shoot as you like and let others to do so.

In photo 34, the front man (on the left) who is out of focus looks very awkward. Other photos like 45 are very nice. It looks like a nice lens. The bottom line is to exploit the advantages and the nature of the lens you own in the best possible way.
