The earnings for the quarter is $583 million, not $2.08 billion. The revenue was $2.08 billion.
"...however I think that firmware updates are something we should offer."
Sounds like continuing product support is very low in Sony's priority. The good news is, Sony is not the only camera company in the world.
I'll need AI assist to say Canon 470EX-AI, otherwise, it's an interesting product.
HD video at 960 frames per second for 0.2 seconds is too short for any single event capturing. When Usain Bolt set the world record, his reaction time was 0.146 seconds.
Extending it to 0.4 seconds would be much more useful.
Great for shooting weddings!
If Apple could make a comeback 20 year ago, so can you. Invest in R&D and keep innovating.
If this article were published a month early, I could have saved myself a lot of money.
It could have been a great Kickstarter project!
Our TSA officers will now go to advanced trainings, so they can tell the differences between vacuum cleaners and IEDs.
Don't even think of using the viewfinder. It could be bad for your health.
A one year old Apple iPhone 7 has to be slowed down to avoid unexpected shutdown, that’s unacceptable. The characteristics of lithium-ion battery are well known. If a few percent changes in the impedance of the battery will cause unexpected shutdowns, then Apple’s engineers have done a very poor design. Meanwhile, other manufactures such as LG and Samsung don’t have to throttle down their processors for aging batteries, why only Apple has to do that?
Looks like the Canon 5D MK III has not shown its age.
It's breathtaking!
Leica does not have to worry. The M10 has higher DXO score than this one.
IMHO GoPro does not have the fundamentals to be public company. If you don't have any core technology patents to make your products unique, it's going to be a me too company.
I wish DXOMark return to use MTF instead of Acutance for the sharpness graphs.
J A C S: Nice images but there are some inaccuracies:
The 50/1 has neither 1/3 stop advantage over the 50/1.2 nor 2/3. It is 1/2 actually = 2*log_2(1.2/1.0) if we believe the stated f-stops.
The DOF is 0.8cm only if you focus at 63cm or so, which you should not.
SPKoko,
SACS and Wiki are both correct; the number is 0.526... stops.
digilt: With an numerical aperture of 0.2 and efficiency of 20%, the T-stop is 5.59. Like most new inventions, it will get better.
Roland, Digitalis32, Arkienkeli, for uncoated glass with an index of refraction of 1.5, it takes 20 pieces of glass to get the transmittance to 0.2, that is, .923^20 = .20. The contrast may not be as bad as 20 pieces of uncoated lens, because the metal lens thickness is of the order of a wavelength. The lost is mostly due to absorption than internal reflection. IMHO.
With an numerical aperture of 0.2 and efficiency of 20%, the T-stop is 5.59. Like most new inventions, it will get better.
It's beautiful! Great composition!
