Good point. Now I'm thinking maybe it was a matter of priorities with regard to the camera's space constraints. No doubt some think their priorities are misguided.

I don't do that much video work but I have noticed that it's a big battery drain. Ergo, you'd get the grip for uninterrupted shooting and have the jack.
