On article Best online printing services (145 comments in total)

So this is "best among a very small sampling of basic consumer photo printing." There are a lot of online services that do a lot more than these places (some already mentioned like Bay Photo and WHCC, but also Whitewall, Nevada Art Printers, etc.). It would be nice to see a more comprehensive review.

This was my first digital SLR, too.

ZurichPhoto: Interesting ... but you have to be a tiny bit skeptical of a company whose first move is to visually brand its product to be confused with the Lexar brand the owners once worked for. Reminds me of ... the classic McDowell's/ McDonalds move from Coming to America.

It's not the name he's referring to, it's the visual branding: color scheme, graphical layout, even font. They look just like Lexar cards.

My first Canon was an A2E and I loved the eye control focus, and have wished for it to make a return, too.

Blaise06a: Interesting. Looking forward to testing the V8. I have been using DXO forever as part as my workflow.

The upgrade is not yet available on my customer account.

Yes- it's slow (both in setting the edits and in processing with 11 seconds per Canon 5d2 raw file), unfriendly, even crashes regularly (less so now) but it's the best RAW converter I've seen and my go-to choice for every pro shoot.

Their website notes it will be available on Oct. 29th, so I'm guessing the upgrade won't be available for purchase until then.
