RedFox88: Not quite up to the 5Ds level. Meanwhile the 5Ds2 will probably come out next year!

The image quality from the 5Ds(R) is impressive, and just as good or better than the D850. One thing I noticed immediately is that the contrast on the 5DsR is much better than on the D850, but that can of course also be because of the lens: https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/image-comparison/fullscreen?attr18=daylight&attr13_0=nikon_d850&attr13_1=canon_eos5dsr&attr13_2=sony_a7rii&attr13_3=canon_eos5dmkiv&attr15_0=raw&attr15_1=raw&attr15_2=raw&attr15_3=raw&attr16_0=100&attr16_1=100&attr16_2=100&attr16_3=100&attr171_2=1&normalization=full&widget=1&x=-0.010966445392707346&y=0.3390606583524218

However, the 5DsR is a camera of the generation of the 5D Mark III, which means it misses immensely useful features such as the touch screen etc. Looking forward to an updated version of the 5DsR - and I hope that its dynamic range will be up-to-par with Nikon's DSLRs.

On article Throwback Thursday: the Canon PowerShot G1 (157 comments in total)

My first digital camera, which I got in December 2002, was the Powershot G3. (I had a Canon EOS 30 film SLR before that).

After that I got the 10D, then the 5D, and then the 5D mark III.

FoolyCooly: They should just bundle it with a good external mic and call it a day.

@lancespring: That is not entirely true - it does not have a standard connector for an external mic, but one of the accessories you can get from Sony for the NEX-5N is an external microphone, which plugs in on the external flash connector on the top.
