  • No, but good (or poor) photographic technique is the same no matter what the system.....and advice about that can be had from any forum... -J
  • Thanks! I am actually pretty impressed with the color output of the RP for these.  I do wish that Adobe would add in the Canon profiles, though, as Adobe's profiles are not accurate to the Canon ones.
  • I have no complaints about the IS in the 70-300mm II.  I'm used to not having IBIS, and I have pretty good holding technique at this point, so as long as the lens IS is decent, I can usually shoot ...
  • Thank you! It's those purple Grape Hyacinths.  They were just glorious this year, so they made a great backdrop against the tulips :) . -J
  • Thanks :) !  I am so happy I actually could do this this year; I look forward to it every spring. -J
  • Created discussion thread Tulips (minus the Fest this year)
Every year, Albany, NY, has a grand display of tulips in Washington Park, along with a full schedule of festivities over Mother's Day weekend (TulipFest).  This is always accompanied by a lot of ...

  • Replied in A first!
I was sitting out in my backyard yesterday afternoon, with the camera handy, and mostly just trying to get some shots of the regulars at the feeder. Suddenly, this flash of orange flew across the ...

  • Do you have any other EF lenses you can test out on the RP with adapter? If other EF lenses also do not work right, then it is either the adapter or the body. Next, clean the contacts on the lens, ...
  • Spring in the northern Hemisphere is finally really here...chilly still in the northeast US, but flowers are slowly starting to bloom and the trees starting to leaf out a bit. Of course, that ...

  • I think most Sigmas do tend to be warm, but this one is more neutral, IMO, than their usual.   And, yes, the 100L was a surprise to me when I tried it (and not in a good way :) ) -J
  • I didn't do a big comparison there.  I'm perhaps not the best person to judge fine differences in stabilization as it takes fairly bad stabilization for me to notice that it's not working well.  ...
  • I am very pleased with the Sigma 105. I even like its color rendition better than the Canon (it seems more neutral to me; the Canon has one of the warmest color renditions of any of the Canon EF ...
  • I don't know how it behaves on the EF mount, but when I was looking to buy a macro, I tried two copies of the 100L on the RP with adapter, and both demonstrated grindy, clunky, focusing.  I bought ...

  • It depends on the lens.  If you have any particular lenses in mind, that would be easier to answer, as I don't think you can make a blanket statement about adapted third party EF-M lens behavior ...
  • I have both lenses and the 55-200 is definitely better in terms of sharpness, especially as you get towards the corners. I use the 18-150mm more though, simply for convenience. One other thing to ...
  • Definitely the EF-M 11-22.  It's a very good lens and I think its focal range will meet your needs very well. You might want to think about some alternative light sources also, like a flash with a ...
