Henderson92: This lens is already out and limited quantity but was available in S. Korea. According to the Korean camera forum, someone heard some insider info from the Sony representative that it's due to QC and chromatic aberration related. Some users experienced CA issues with their own copy like the DPreview's review unit. Not sure how credible this info though...

@roweraay
Also, this is the S. Korean photo community(SLR Club) link with a 35mm gm shot that shows the CA issue. note that it's in Korean but the main image is cropped from the full-size image on the comment below.

Actually, there are a good amount of users who owned this lens already in East Asian countries their copy shows similar CA issues in a certain condition. Check Lenstip's review

I like Sony and their lenses. I think they did the right thing regardless of the actual reason behind this delay.

Camera Conspiracies: I have the EM1 III, and I use it mainly for video. I like the fact that they are focusing more on video, but an external recorder is the last thing on earth I'd use with this camera. The main reason to use an Olympus is because they're light with amazing IBIS. Using an external recorder would ruin the run and gun ergonomics.

Improve your internal recording, nobody is rigging this camera out on professional shoots. Make basic improvements like being able to lower the unbelievable high digital sharpening in Log format. Let us save video settings to custom modes. Let us tweak auto exposure speed, stuff like that. Olympus has some of the most natural colours of any system, they don't even know what they have for video. So much potential!

All I want is the perfect camera. All I want is the perfect camura~

RolliPoli: No free lunch... If this lens were to be wider than 28mm, the size would balloon. Clearly, small size rather than speed or a short focal length was the design team's priority.

I don’t think Nikon’s 24-50mm is much bigger than this lens(although it’s 50mm at long end and darker).

This is a totally irrelevant topic/ comparison(Full-frame lens vs 1inch p&S), but I really miss Nikon DL(Aka dead unicorn) that I've never even met... 18-50mm(35mm equivalent) would've been an awesome focal length option for vlogging or photo camera if it actually came out and good as I wanted to be.

4sofnature: Sony's reluctance to release a kit lens wider than 24mm is beyond understanding.

Isn't the Panasonic's 20-60mm like the first full-frame kit lens that goes wider than 24mm? If so, all full-frame manufacturers should consider this new 'trend' going wide not just Sony.

Henderson92: I am shocked that Nikon came out with 24-50 (f/4-6.3), but Sony came out with 28-60mm(f/4-5.6)... Now the Nikon one doesn't look that bad in comparison :D (Except the shorter/darker at the long end)

As a Nikon user, I'm jealous of Panasonic's 20-60mm(f/3.5-5.6). It's bigger but wider and brighter than the Nikon/Sony one.

sibuzaru: So they not only didn't get the memo on every single review of the zv1 complaining about the 24mm on the wide end but they doubled down this time and made it even longer on the wide end, brilliant...

This lens was probably designed and ready to go even before the zv1 was released.

I have a dream: And once again, many people here unable to make the distinction between "Not useful to me" vs "Not useful to anybody"... So sad...

One of the best comment I read on this thread/alticle eventhough I am Nikon shooter and these types of lenses are not for me.

MrGubrz: as a Sony user, very happy for the Nikon users! and excited Nikon will be closer in Sonys mind, to help push both companies further

We need more people like you, not those bashing other camera companies.
