I want one right now... If someone here purchased one and has remorse I can buy it from you.
Haters... Let Leica make some money. You already got a second mortgage to pay $80,000 for your fancy pickup, just to have it parked at the front of your house, because you can't afford the gas to move it.
There is wealthy people out there that will buy this Leica and that they did not need a loan to purchase the two Mercedes they own.
Nikon can't keep making good cameras forever if nobody buys them because they will be waiting for the next good one at lower price. At the end Apple will win selling more short life Chinese iPhones at a very high price. RIP Nikon.
xlucine: The strap looks a little overbuilt compared to the weedy little things that actually attach to your camera. If those are fine, why do you need the fancy milk bottle stuff for the main strap?
Yes... Exactly. Looks like the weak spots easy to cut with a regular scissors are these two weedy little things that attach to the camera.
Love Gordon's style and manners. He is a great reviewer and beautiful human being.
Looks like lately the staff turnover at DPReview is very high. Otherwise where is Jeff?
RSTP14: Why did DPR felt a need to make this video?
these two are all over DPR... is there anything the won't do?
European contribution to technology development:
America invents and designs hardware and software
Chine manufactures everything
Europe writes bureaucratic laws to complicate what the two above do.
Nikon needs to move their manufacturing facilities back to China and all supply problem will end.
Chinese made them. The Swedish do the testing and packing.
Too bad Nikon does not make cameras in Japan anymore. What happen with all these craftsmen that worked at Nikon factories in Japan? Are all retired and their know how lost forever?
By the way, Nikon can't continue competing with Canon and Sony anymore and they will go out of business soon. These nostalgic new cameras are not enough to stay competitive.
If you buy a Corvette nobody will question why you did not purchase a KIA instead (cheaper and it will also take you from A to B). So why so many here care about the mere existence of the Leica camera? Leica owners buy their cameras with their own money (as far as I know there aren't any tax credits for Leica purchases). It is a free country and you use your money as you like it (except Britney Spears, of course).
Japanese technology + Chinese manufacturing, an alliance impossible to beat.
Trying to get the original French version of this book. Very expensive here in the USA.
DougDolde: No great loss
Very big loss for Barcelona.
Having all its factories in a single country is a risk that Sony has already assumed. But they should learn the lesson and built factories in other countries around China.
JoeM143: Is it still made in Japan?
Fujifilm is moving all the camera manufacturing to China. Cost labor is below Japan and the Chinese workmanship is hard to beat. This is the same reason why all Apple products are also made in China.
This is a very expensive camera right now (for a Chinese product), but it will be heavily discounted in a couple of months. Price will be less than a $1000 around May. Just be patient and wait. The X100F will be the last X100 made in Japan, so I will put my money now to purchase a new X100F as soon the price drops, because this camera will be highly collectible in the near future.
China (X-T3) vs Japan (X-Pro3). The winner is China.
These Chinese gadgets are more expensive than what I was expecting. I think I'll pass this time.
