(unknown member): Very nice! I see you used the 135L, my favorite lens :-).

It's absolutely amazing! Unfortunately, I rented it but it's on my list for Santa :-)

gidgetto: congratulations on a well deserved win. You captured a moment with this child and you captured it beautifully. not only would it make a fond memory, but the technical aspect are very good as well a nice simple bokeh in the background that doesn't distract from the little boy and the hose which fit the theme of this challenge perfectly, well done.

Thanks so much for all the kind comments. As much as I'd like to take credit for the technical execution there wasn't much time to think when he decided to attack his sister with the water hose, so if anything it was more about intuition and patience and being at the right place at the right time with the right lens. And yes... I did get wet in the process!

happy snapper uk: dodgy voting

I must have a secret admirer then because I'm not into soliciting votes if that's what you were implying, and if you were I find it offensive.

Thank you! It was one of those moments where everything just falls together. It was about an hour before sunset so the light was perfect. My daughter started walking down the empty beach following the tire tracks, which would have made for a decent shot. But then the truck appeared on the horizon and she stopped to look at it. I was just trying to capture that moment, but it was only afterwards that I realized the truck could be seen as moving away from her, having just left the fresh tracks and suggesting she was left behind. I just love it when a photo tells a story like that, even if it wasn't the real story!
