danny006: The jpegs have more detail and less noise compared to A7RII. At higher ISO it does even better than the D850 in terms of detail. The 5DS is not performing good, the details are gone at medium and high ISO.

Still does not define ultimate image quality. In this regard the incorrect cameras are being compared.

When one looks at ultimate image quality, medium and high ISO should not form part of the equation.

Fuji GFX and Canon 5ds/r clearly resolve more detail. However this would obviously be expected.

Derrick Louw: All I can add is am I glad I sold my leica (M240)!! Could not (effectively) use any lens other than the 50mm which had been set up with the body. All the local agent could advise was to send it back to the factory for calibration with any additional lens/es. And when I purchase or trade for another lens? Single, difficult to access SD card and no adjustable viewfinder made me wish I had kept my Fuji X-Pro2 or even X100! By the way, for the same price I now have a GFX.

One of the main reasons I bought into the GFX system is due to the reported 100mp lens quality. Take the 23mm (18 equivalent in FF) - much sharper edge to edge than anything else I have seen - and usable to f32. I have not looked at any specs but my GF 63mm appears optically superior (across the entire frame) to my previous leica 50mm Summicron and Summilux.

Cipher: Here comes the crying! The fact that it has the same score as the D800 is no coincidence. lol.

Interesting that the 5D3 resolves approximately the same amount of detail as the 16 mp 1Ds2 (based on DP Review tests)

Hey, I just remembered I have a full frame 16.7 megaixel Canon 1Ds Mk2 somewhere (which was released over 100 years ago in digital terms!).
