It would be interesting to see 32-shot high-res mode -photos.

Hmm. Plena focuses a bit closer and has much higher max magnification. So that would be a plus. I have noticed that whichever non-ultra-wide lens I'm using I always hope they could focus closer.
-
So, Now I need to figure out if it makes any sense to trade in 105/1.4 and buy Plena. Any comments on this? What would you do?

"My prediction is that most Z9's will be perfectly fine for decade and more...." I actually though in my head that my prediction is that most Z9's will outlive us, the users. But it felt a bit ...

My D70 still works even though it is as old as my adult son (who doesn't work...studies though). And I stopped being careful with D70 after first months. I've had Z9 for 21 months now, have use it ...

I like that this lens focuses so much closer than my 800/6.3. First impressions are very positive.

Looks good but would require retro-style lenses. I am somewhat interested if there will be a good bundle with a stylish semi-wide prime lense. Something to carry around in town.

I remember having had a Sigma lens which was draining battery.

Best smart-phones take amazingly good photos (in relation to the small size of sensors and lenses). I can easily imagine how Z9II could use amazing speed, great VR, powerful processor and lessons ...

I'm a smallish guy and use Z9 +800mm combo mostly handheld. 180-600 is a bit lighter, so "handholding" should not be any issue for the lucky ones, who are in good health. I generally find using ...

I've been waiting for 180-600 to fill the gap I have had between 70-200 and 800 since selling 200-500. Generally I'd say that 400 would be too short for much of the wildlife I encounter.

I've had Z9 for almost 1,5 years and have not yet mastered all the previous features and now Nikon gives us more. I like it, this camera keeps my ageing brain active. But seriously, this is a ...

Check setting d8: View Mode.

I had D500 and D850 and now Z9 since January 2022. Not a scratch and they all have articulating screens. How do the damages happen? Just curious so I can keep being lucky with my cameras:-)

Based on experience with Z9, EVF refresh rate has minimal effect on battery life. I would go for 120, it is noticeably smoother.
-
Do people get scratches on their camera screens? I have shot with DSLR/mirrorless for 19 years and never used any protectors. Never damaged the screen and I'm not too gentle on my equipment,

The slowest shutter setting on Z9 is 900 seconds (on Manual mode). Is it different on Z8? I really like that you can set very slow shutter speeds without the need to use any external controllers.

My thoughts exactly. Z8 would be a bit too similar to Z9. I'd rather have high pixel density pro-DX as my 2nd body. But if that doesn't seem to appear, I'll likely eventually get a Z8.
