MichailK: Jordan!!! “Nee-konn” and not “Naeekon”!!
(Greek native here, at the Mount Athos monastery community land once upon a time in the 90’s the other monks had a huge yellow Nikon poster glued on Father Nikon’s monastic cell door - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikon_the_Metanoeite )

In the US (and I think some in Canada) we all say 'Nighkon.' People can say it differently, that's ok.

michael222: The Z9 looks amazing. I put a pre order in for one at BH. One thing that is bothering me is still the AF. Apprently Teaser 3 was not real and the AF boxes were put in later, as Nikon has admitted this. What frustrates me is when companies or poeple lie. Its hard to trust a companie when they use mendacious techniques like this, and ive shot Nikon for almost 20 years. I expect companies to be honest and not misrepresent the facts. If you watch the various youtube videos of someone actaully using the camera the AF is not as good as the "Teaser". As Jared Polin has stated, its "almost on par with Sony and Canon". Thats bothersome that Nikon's flagship AF is not even on par with other camera brands that have been out for almost a year. The 120FPS JPEG normal is awesome. Is anyone else bothered that the new Nikon Flagship is still somehwat beind in the AF?

Don't use FroKnowsFoto as the definitive verdict on anything. Entertaining - sure, if you're into obnoxious juvenile humor. If you take the aggregate opinion it seems that Z9 is 'at least' as good as the current front runners.

Marketing is marketing and it's always going to be full of at least some bluster. The point is they've met/exceeded the expectations.

forest dream: Only sure Nikon Z9 push down stacked sensor camera price.

Canon top management may be no idea about next Canon R1 price tag. If Canon R1 had same features as Nikon Z9, can it expensive than Z9? Since R1 must expensive than R3.

Well done Nikon.

If Nikon release $1300 Z6 lite (replace XQD with UHS-II) and drop to 6fps (12-bit Raw only), limit to 4K 30p. Then, Canon RP may dying.

Since Nikon Z6 II has dual processor, believe it able upgrade to 4K 60p without crop via firmware.

'Z6 lite' - The Z5 is basically that.

(unknown member): "Nikon Z fc vs Fujifilm X-T30: which is the better retro APS-C camera?"

None. APS-C did never play a role in analog times. So, what does "retro APS-C" refer to???

When looking for retro, better wait for Nikon Z f basing on Z5, including improved EVF and IBIS, besides match to Z lenses.

'Retro APSC' doesn't refer to an APSC that existed in the past. It's APCS but done with a 'retro' style. 'Retro APSC' makes perfect sense because retro doesn't have to refer to a specific thing that actually existed, just needs to refer in general to something from the past.

Delete_account: Insulting price. It’s a shame competition in this space has shrunk so much that an f4 lens is selling for this ridiculous amount of money, and people seem happy to pay for it.

Especially surprising since the impressive Nikon 14-30 f4 comes in around $1300 and is routinely on sale for 1k.

Papa Whisky: From a purely analytical point of view I'd like to see Nikon's market research that concluded this was a wise use of their R&D budget. I honestly can't see how this brings anything useful or unique to the market... Other than to placate Chris Niccolls.

But I think RD was part of this in so far as it contains a lot of the same innards as the Z50 BUT with key features that lots of people complained were missing: USBC in camera charging while on, fully articulating screen. So it didn’t cost much RD to develop but is pretty well differentiated from the Z50. I hope it succeeds and that they support it with suitably aesthetically appealing lenses.

TomCodyPleasedToMeetYa: I bought an Olympus Pen F because it was so stylish and I like the front control dial.

This is even better looking and is ASPC. Very interested!

Buy it and report back! :)

Rolandigital: As an ex-owner of the FM3A I want one! I wish it had multi-exposure switch, and more dedicated fast lenses. Good work Nikon!

That would be kind of cool, wonder if you can program that into one of the buttons?

montxsuz: Well it looks cool. I still have a FM3a, would be a nice pair but the Z-series will be a new rabbit-hole of lenses for me.

They are great! My hope is that they support the camera with suitable lenses and include manual and aperture rings

arniebook: I've been using a RAVpower dual USB charger exclusively for over five years, along with the two ENEL-15 batteries that came with it for about $30 total. I've never had a problem with either the charger or the batteries, and can use the charger anywhere there is a usb charging port, including in my car. I originally got this because the Nikon charger that came with my camera became unreliable. My camera is pushing 100,000 releases.

Yep, can confirm. Rav power batteries are great with my d750 and d610
