D60 is a good basic camera. If you are just shooting jpegs it has Active D Lighting which the D40 doesn't and few other little bells & whistles. There is some argument that the 6MP sensor of the ...

thank you - that's very helpful !

not quite so cheap in Oz :-)

very nice, tripod and flash? how long did the whole process take? i.e. setup, taking the shots and the stacking in silico?

I think even for jpeg output you could get close(r) by adjusting the settings. Worth experimenting But yes, lots of people like the CCD sensor output.

that is weird. did you get the 18-55 as well in the package? hope the 70-300 is the AF-P and with VR. I have a D3300 which is very similar to the 3500. I think they are great.

I haven't looked at reviews of either of these lenses. I do have the G1 (bought 2nd hand to use for indoor sports - f2.8 and reasonably fast & accurate AF). It seems to work properly on D7500 and ...

Nice shots, thanks. I'll keep my eye out for a bargain. (I've thought about the 16-80 occasionally but it is an expensive lens)

that is an option ... :-) (humidity might be an issue though)

thanks. I have a couple of small bags that the G16 fits into nicely. I might see if I can find a neoprene case that fits it. I have a case for a S120 and that makes it very easy to stow.

my fix so far is to turn off the touch screen ... (I am also going to say that the basic and advanced manuals are not very well written)

resurrecting very old thread. I've just got this camera and having this issue of the single focus point being shifted over the to far right. I won't say the words I might but it is immensely ...

thanks. The use case for the AF-P lens is related to its diminutive size. Much smaller than the Tokina 11-20 I already have. And seemingly still rather smaller and lighter than the two other Nikon ...
