Rather than try to reverse a standard Canon autofocus lens, I use an old manual 50mm Minolta lens from my second 35mm film camera. The aperture can be easily set. It works great.

For things like that, I use a small labjack with a mini ballhead with an alligator clip mounted, or a bit of modeling clay.
-
I also found it extremely helpful for understanding equipment issues. There's a lot of useful information that collected in one place.

I was going to try that with my cheap Chinese rail, but couldn't figure out a way to get the knob off without breaking something. I then considered printing a circular label with tick marks on ...

I moved at the end of March and I'm still unpacking. I had 60+ bankers boxes of books alone. It took me months to get enough bookcases and I just found another box of paperbacks. I'm in the ...

I also have the Wemacro which I really like. In addition I have one of the cheap eBay style manual rails like the one mounted on your Wemacro stand. It was nearly worthless for image stacking due ...

Perspective doesn't change enough to matter.

I NEVER use auto focus for macro. I use mostly body position.

I have the Tokina 100mm macro and am very happy with it. It's been passed from Canon 350D to T4i to 80D. Never a problem.

Vastly better than anything I'm likely to do any time soon, and I just bought a bunch of softboxes for still life.

Depending upon the subject, I may or may not care at all. If it's something like a camera or a handgun, or something like that, I'll at least try to get the dust off, usually using a blower or ...

I just threw together a large scrim out of random PVC pipe and fittings I had lying around, just to see if I had enough parts for the frame. I can just get diffusion material when I actually have ...

I've made small table top scrims from PVC in the past, and am planning to build a much larger one when I clear space for my still life setup.

Nothing bigger than a handgun or a bowl of fruit. I built a structural pipe and MDF table on wheels for those size subjects. I don't have room for anything much bigger.

I just got a third 24x24 Godox softbox, as well as a Neewer light stand and boom so I can get overhead light if I need it. Right now, I'm looking at using flags for modifying light, since I'm only ...

There's no single answer, and you may not even want to build one. It depends upon what kind of flash you use and how it's mounted on the camera. As someone else pointed out, there are a ton of ...

They're camera brand specific, so you have to order the one specific to your camera, whether it's Canon, Nikon, etc.

I have the Flashpoint branded version of this. It's what I use on my outdoor macro rig, combined with a Flashpoint TTL flash with built-in wireless.
-
I have a dual sync cable splitter that I use with my Flashpoint studio strobes when I do focus stacking, to avoid missed activations.
-
I've got a single Flashpoint TTL speed light triggered wirelessly. I started out with a TTL cable. I'd recommend wireless as the cable constantly gets in the way.
