Yep. Night mode and shallow DOP in video will eventually come to phones sooner than we think. Probably iPhone 13 pro max :) Then there is no looking back.
-
Pretty bad? Yeah a 2014 phone camera is pretty bad. 2020 phones are good enough and they are only going to get better.

it's your choice, you can shoot with a potato if you like. I am talking about all the innovation going on in mobile front. It already happened and its not over.
-
yeah NX cameras would be on top of Sony's for sure.
-
Yeah I hear you but I am talking in terms of business and technology perspective. People still ride horses but not for going to work or cross country ride. Companies will innovate only for market ...
-
Yes. I think the dedicated cameras are not innovating much in terms for computational photography. I mean with larger sensor, the night mode would be much better in those camera. Same goes for ...
-
It already replaced point and shoot cameras. :) You are right about professional camera users but this market is small anyway and might shrink. Companies like Sony and Panasonic know this and ...
-
yes it's niche segment. But again smaller sensor means more reach. Who knows in 5-6 years the zoom in camera phones become much better.
-
haha. well may be. But still, camera phones are not used for serious photo/video applications.
-
Computational photography is the future. No doubt about it. Latest iPhones can shoot 10 bit hdr video, Huawei p40 has largest camera sensor ever (1/1.28 inches) on a smartphone. That's larger ...

Yeah every person has different requirements. For me, I prefer high quality cameras that can fit in pocket (at least jacket pocket). I am walking in downtown street and suddenly I found some item ...
-
Well, there are way more photos in the internet taken from phones rather than all cameras combined. And they all are taken from inside pocket as per your logic. :) if that's the case I am ok with ...
-
The theme here is smaller and pocketable camera. Whatever works. Yes phones are doing pretty well in camera department these days, that's exactly why companies like Panasonic have to innovate to ...
-
And I don't want them to match my opinion. As I said, it's a discussion, nothing serious. Relax.
-
No my friend, it was never a joke. It's just a light discussion. If you are having a bad day, go take a walk may be. :D
-
What's wrong with the question/poll? if you are offended, may be not answer and mind your business.
-
Relax, it's not that serious :) . Since I like Panasonic's implantation a lot and I like pocketable cameras too, one would naturally wish that. It's just a wish and a non serious discussion.
-
Can't shoot with GX9 only. you need a lens :D with lens it gets un-pocketable. The point is pocketable size. Even with 14mm Panasonic lens, the smallest camera will become too big for a truly ...
-
True. nothing wrong with using GF10 and 14mm lens too. With fixed lens, it can be more compact and optimized for the sensor.
