gn28: What a major disappointment. Sure, the body is small, but when you add some decent lens it becomes huge all of a sudden. It is easier to just make the body a bit bigger and, at the same time, fix the major drawbacks of this platform:
- add faster storage (CFast 2.0 card) and use it on all cameras
- add a darn all axis articulated touch screen to help with easy focus and use it on all Sony cameras to make it really easy and cheap to mass produce
- add a standard battery that allows people to take 600-800 shots
- add QuickCharge 2.0/3.0 and USB charging so people can use their phone's charger or external USB batteries to charge the battery to 80% in 15 minutes

Agreed with gn28. This could have been best APS-C camera. With that price they should have provided below on top:
Battery grip (weather sealed and more than one control dial)
dual SD card slots
Development announcement of fast and correctly priced APS-C only lenses.

Too bad that above will effect their full frame sales. They want 6500 to be backup camera to FF only. Poor a6500.

Bora Cyprus: No battery grip means Sony is not serious about APS-C line. They will not make good glass for APS-C only either.
To me, 6500 is just a testing camera Sony released to get AF feedback from users and they will implement it in upcoming full frame A9 which they will charge too much. They just care about making money by releasing fancy cameras every 6 months and not providing updates to old cameras.

Fuji is much better at providing genuine photography experience and they are committed to do so.

Sony should learn at least from Panasonic (if not Fuji) with their latest G80/85. It is cheaper, weather sealed, has batter grip, has good video features..all under 1000 bucks.

(i own a sony a6000 and A7 and thinking to ditch Sony soon)

No, I am comparing the price and specs. Sensor alone doesn't makes a camera cheaper or costly as much as twice. My point was that Sony is not serious about APS-C.
Also the sensor difference is not 2 times.

Angrymagpie: Why doesn't Sony give us more lenses?
Are lenses technically more difficult to produce?
This looks like a great camera. But I'd like a weather-sealed version of the 24/1.8 to pair with it (which would hopefully be shorter than the current Zeiss one).
Maybe a more affordable version of the standard zoom?

Their APS-C line is a trap. They are not serious about it at all.

Since you are mostly doing it in studio (face shot) with lots of artificial lights (flash, screens) available, you won't need high ISO desperately. And if it is the case, any modern full frame will work. You said you have canon lenses already, so why switch to Nikon ? If you have such amount of money then buy 5D mk 3 or even 1DX instead. No one can beat 1DX in any situation.
