EPlay: Beautiful! My favorite hotel in Vegas which I try to visit on each trip. I love the courtyard with the painted sky ceiling. I always like to sit there with a cup of coffee for some quiet time away from the bustle.

Thank you.

MannyZero: I have always asked myself, whenever I see mammoth megapixel count on new cameras that hit the market every year: Who needs these many megapixels?
I saw this great image of yours, along with the others on your portfolio.
I've got my answer.
KUDOS2U, Sir..!!

Thank you. Yes the extra pixels do come in handy.

@MannyZero you NEED the megapixels when you crop or zoom.

Thank you.

I just wonder how PETA has standing in a U.S. Court as the representative of the macaque? Have they, the macaques, retained PETA as legal council for all copyright cases? If so I think that is the real story here. BTW, my dog was just in my office asking if I had model release for the photos of have taken of her.

In reply to:

RuthC: Congratulations, pajarrett, on third place in this weekly challenge, with your interesting black & white rendition of an orange balloon. You've achieved great clarity and details in the whole dramatic picture, yet I am left wondering why you would have entered this, titled 'orange balloon', in black and white. I think I'm just a simple soul who enjoys seeing the world in full colour.
RuthC :-)

RuthC, Thank you for your kind comments. I entered the photo as B&W simply because I liked how it turned out. The balloon in B&W has a silver glow that appealed to me. If you would like to see it in color go to https://500px.com/pajarrett
There are a couple of photos of the balloon in color.

Robert Kempen: beautiful landscape and even nicer by the fact that you mention shutter speed and focal length, but not manufacturer

I used a Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 on a Nikon D800 mounted on a RRS single row pano set up and tripod. Thanks for your comment.

For the casual photographer it a mirror less camera makes perfect sense. Improve the sensor (make it an FX), provide better glass, and give it all of the controls (without have to dig through menus) and I would go for it rather then carting around my heavy DSLR and lenses.
