Thanks … but it's EV-1 that I need, on top of highlight-weighted metering, to stop the highlights blowing out against a dark sea ;) The puffins will be back soon (hopefully the avian flu didn't get ...

Sorry to resurrect this long-dead thread, but as a recent "convert" to Exa (currently Exa Ia, but may expand) , I thought someone else may be interested in the concept of the Tamron Adaptall-2 ...

Interesting :) I take a lot of seabird shots from our local cliffs … very often a predominantly white bird against a dark background, for which I compensate manually. The subject is often/usually ...

Could just be dirty contacts … remember to wipe the power contacts as well as the data contacts on both the lens and the camera.
-
No … it simply takes the central section of the exposed image and writes that to the card. Mostly useful when you simply can't get any closer to a (possibly wildlife) subject and don't want to ...

The Pentax-supplied Digital Camera Utility does provide some a/f info, unfortunately I shoot almost exclusively in "Single centre spot" a/f mode so there's nothing to see in my pictures … I also ...

Well, I don't have a K10D, but I have several other 6 and 10Mpixel Pentax DSLRs and none of them exhibit the characteristics complained about here. I'd suggest that your body has taken a knock and ...

Very much so! I use my NX5 with a 28mm Industar-69 for a lot of my "street" work ... not as compact as the bodies with no eye-level viewfinder, but very satisfactory, and am often grateful for the ...

Personally, I use the Focus Confirmation Indicator (green hexagon) in the optical viewfinder when I'm working with manual lenses, simply to avoid scenarios like this. It is a characteristic of the ...

I prefer the backlit tree in monochrome, the lakeside view is an either/or, the first two I don't think benefit from losing their colours … just personal opinion, of course, it's what you like ...

I think you're mis-interpreting the table, but I don't have a K-1, so can't be sure. There are more figures on p116 which may help … or you could simply be up against limitations of the camera :(

P107 in the K-1 operating manual has a table of which functions work (or not) under which circumstances … you should find a lot of your answers there.

Nice pictures, certainly … but I rather fail to see the point of taking a lens with allegedly "different" characteristics, only using the centre of the image circle, and then applying all manner ...

This is usually simply because these features are very accurate, because they use the PDAF sensors, and the shallow depth of field on these types of lenses means the camera has to be held ...

Personally, I rely on the green hexagon Focus Confirmation Indicator in the viewfinder and have no problem! I've got a drawer-full of M42 lenses, many of which that have followed me around since ...

… and all you need to do is find a few thousand (tens of thousands of?) like-minded people who are prepared to put a deposit up front and I'm sure Ricoh will chop the prism off the KF and sell you ...

Samsung data is getting a bit thin on the ground. You might try the WayBack Machine web.archive.org and see if there's anything historic stored there. FWIW, I've updated both my NX-5 and my NX-11 ...

You've obviously got more experience in this field than I have ;)

Got mine on pre-order as well … bought it as an "a/f upgrade" and in that respect it works very well, when needed, but my KP still gets used extensively and some of my other bodies still have ...
