nk212v: This could be a great alternative to the Fuji XTs for the street, though ideally, they should have launched it with a budget pancake like a 40mm 2.8 or so

These days I only use my fuji for food photography, everything else is nikon Z.

While we are at the jokes, we must not forget better bokeh, faster lenses, more available lenses and ow light. These are the real world advantages full frame holds on apsc system.

Waleed Alzuhair: The gallery is impressive, I liked the puppy's eyes and the dew on the beer glass; exactly what I wanted to see 🙂

I ordered this lens a couple of days ago, and it shipped today.. Can't wait to try it out. It's replacing the Canon EF 40mm f/2.8 as my daily walkabout lens (and will be a lot heavier).

What's your finding, now you must have used the lens enough to evaluate?

75mm focal length us not appealing. It's neither normal enough or portrait enough.
Fuji is running out of options, due to the limits of apsc.

In reply to:

tikus: I agree, FF doesn't make sense for Fuji. They should focus on improving their APSC and MF lines. Give us faster AF, better video capabilities, and more lenses, particularly the the compact and cheaper f3 series. The same thing for MF, make it cheaper too.

How would you improve autofocus of apsc to match full frame? It's simply impractical. Apsc can only take you as far as it could not beyond its limits.

DuxX: Very nice camera overall but with very serious flaw... NO FF INSIDE. Sorry Fuji but If you want to become bigger and more serious, you can not run away constantly all the time. FF market is currently sweet spot in modern photo-video technology in terms of costs, portability and image quality. Face it with that. Secure yourself a place under the sun.

Something I have been saying for ages. Fuji need full frame.

I really haven’t seen a Camera thatbdoes bad in a bright sunny day.Test the Camera in low light then we can talk.

With that diameter,Nikon might be able to make f2 zooms. And if they ever decide to go medium format may not need a new mount. If this Camera is reliable, more spontaneous than what’s already available in the market ,the adapter very good ,then Nikon will sell loads.

jagge: It's so hilarious..... They are so desperately late to the party, its obvious that innovation is just not a part of the Nikon skill set. This is the equivalent of Nokia now putting out a teaser hinting to a new revolution, a new phone with a color screen......

It’s better to be late and be the best than to be early and average.Current mirrorless makers knows that there is so much ways the system can still improve, and Nikon entering the fray with its experience with being a major bump.Upcoming fuji xt3 will be priced even cheaper than its previous iteration, that’s a direct effect of Nikon entering the market. If anything we the consumers should be happy.

I strongly believe that this is a response to Godox, who are currently dealing profoto strong blows with the AD600 series.

tom1234567: I wish Tamron/Sigma would support Fuji ,
and I wish Fuji would let them?

Fuji both lens and camera body are built as a sole system, that's why their lenses hardly malfunction or suffer in regards to focus. It will be hard to see that happen.

jadot: The Fuji version (and no Doubt Nikon, Sony, Olympus) is apparently following shortly.

Godox are for me, the go-to portable flash solution, and in some cases have replaced my studio lights too.

When the Fuji trigger is released it will be mine.

Fuji trigger is already in the market.

Godox must have figured out that the group button on their current transmitters left a lot to be desired, good they are responding quickly.

My yongnuo ex-rt 600 is practically the same with my canon ex-rt 600;infact I have the option of using it as slave on my Nikon and Fuji set up and it works flawlessly unlike the canon .
Yongnuo and Godox gradually have taken over the market from all the known brand you can think of.

The battle between this lens and the upcoming Tamron will be very interesting, but I think Tamron will come out tops. I love what Sigma is doing but the focus dilemma is one I can't bring myself to deal with yet.
