ecka84: Oh, no ... same old bad wormy waxy xTrans artifacts and fake detail, specially in green landscapes :( Which make things look weird and overdone.

P.S.
Fanb0y replies not welcome. You can keep your troll venom. It doesn't work on me. Get a bigger monitor, open your eyes and get over it.

So glad somebody else is seeing this strange wormy thing too.

Nicely shot images but - in contrast to fPrime and Alex Hanin - i can see a loss of fine detail. Check the fine details of grass, bushes or leaves ... I had an OMD EM1 Mark II and compared it (in terms of image quality) with my Pen F - for me the Pen F resolved and kept more detail in the images. Now the situation seems similar: The EM5 performs like the EM1 II ... ?

bobbidog: In the pros and cons box not a word is mentioned about IQ? And actually when comparing the EM1 and EM1 MKII in the compare mode window the EM1 MKI scores better in terms of IQ ... ?

Didn't i write this ... "in the compare mode window on DPREVIEW" :-) Try it out and check for yourself ...

Sorry to say - although i am an Oly user since years - those pictures do not impress (me) at all. Is the hype around the Mark II really justified? At the end i want a clean and sharp image ready for further PP. But smeared detail and apparent noise isn't favorable for this task. I wonder why the photographer cranked up the ISO in those shots when shutter speeds are more than sufficient to expose with considerable lower ISO ...

Anybody knows what base ISO the RX100 has?
dpreview shows ISO 100, imaging resource shows ISO 80.
Thank you.

Thanks a lot for this really interesting review. I do have a TS3 and to be honest: This model was the very first one that didn't leak during snorkeling when being on vacation. I used a Canon D10 - foggy screen while snorkeling (service repair). I had a Pentax w10 and a Pentax w30 - foggy screen while snorkeling (Pemtax exchanged the faulty models without any cost). The Panny did a very good job under and over water. And yes, this is the very first underwater camera i shall keep :-)
