John M Roberts: Does anyone know the location of that lake in #1? I recall seeing that same location shot by David Muench years ago and I thought it was from the Trinity Alps which is in the Mt Shasta area. I'd love to visit there.

Look up Castle Lake ,Mt Shasta..... Then look to the south that Heart Lake.

Earth Art: I wonder if number 8 would still qualify. Seems like there may have been some serious time of day difference between the stars and the Painted Hills. Looks like the Painted Hills were shot at twilight and the stars later at night at around midnight.

Still, nice photos. I enjoyed them. Thanks DPR.

A lot of Photoshop happing.....

Nobby2016: well maybe for some regions it got better but for my region it got worse.

the images from 2015 have less detail and all look all very brownish.

the new images look unsharp. it is very good to see because there is a split between 2010 and 2015 images going right through my hometown.

that´s not good!

but google earth offers the option to view older images too.
so i can manually choose that it shows me the better images from 2010.

Try to turn off 3D....

bosco1955: Why not going the other way on the ISO....25,50, ?

But in my 6D... ISO 50 look good as sharpness and noise....I see that when I PP in LR.

On article Sigma announces 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM 'C' (36 comments in total)

An enhanced optical stabilizer (OS) compensates for camera shake, while an optimized hyper sonic motor (HSM) ensures quiet and fast autofocus. Four FLD (performance equal to fluorite) paired with 1 SLD glass elements capture incredible sharp and contrasted images, all the way through the focal length. Utilizing top quality glass, the Sigma 18-300mm Contemporary controls aberration, even at the telephoto end to produce high quality images. Working with the USB dock, this lens allows for firmware updates when available and adjustment of focus parameters.
