Fujifilm produces a bewildering array of photo gear, from P&S cameras to high-end pro gear. Frankly, it's way too much. So it's refreshing to see a promotional video like this one. It's akin to producing a film in praise of the Zippo lighter -- a classic that will never need an upgrade. It does everything it needs to, and it does it really well. I'm not saying the XF35 is perfect, but it does exactly what it was designed to do and does it well.

We are addicted to the 'New'. New is better. No it's not. Get over it.

Nice Kookaburra portrait.
Enid Blyton was an English author, BTW.

Brilliant shot, Javier. Deserved a much higher place.
It's a pity people are so impressed with bold, showy colour and immune to good composition and subtlety.

It will end up being a much more cost-effective way of keeping track of our movements, buying habits and security surveillance. Just another way of feeding the beast that is rampant capitalism.

A much better use for this type of technology would be IA Exposure Evaluation (AIEE) that could dynamically apply ND filtering and shadow lifting to an image in real time - thus allowing for almost infinite DR. Although that might put a lot photographers out of business. :-(

"...capable and imperfect" : Could be said about so many cameras. Terrible title. Seems to me that you haven't spent anywhere near enough time with this camera to really get to know it. I look forward to a more thorough review in the not-to-distant future.

Did you actually read the article?

jay jay02: Sony have never been a camera company. And probably never will be

@ Sangster - I'm not on anyone's side, but Sigma has been making cameras since the early 1970s. Leica has been making 35mm cameras since 1913. So I guess it really doesn't matter when you start. What matters in the quality you produce.

On article Which is best for you: the Fujifilm X-T200 or X-T30? (135 comments in total)
In reply to:

davev8: i have read the page on the sensor twice and i can only assume yhe XF200 has a Bayer CFA as it was stated the XT30 has an X-trans and it did not say the 200 has an X-trans ...so i am guessing its a bayer

If you're referring to X-T200; yes, it has a Bayer CFA.

CaMeRa QuEsT: Sounds like Yamaki san finally realized what a money pit Foveon has been. I wonder if Sigma has ever made a cent out of their Foveon purchase.

What a ridiculous and insulting statement. Sigma may not have made a whole lot money, but they have made a lot of good and faithful friends - and that's way more important.

It's good to know the state of play with this development program and to get an honest disclosure and apology from Yamaki-san. Developing a full frame Foveon sensor was never going to be an easy task. This is in the realm of ground breaking design and engineering. For one thing it requires a very close relationship between the chip designers and the foundry, and I imagine any mistakes would be very expensive.

I wish Mr Yamaki and Sigma all the best with this venture and hope to hear some better news in the not-too-distant future.
