fujiste: Sorry but putting a flip screen on a retro, photo-targeted camera makes NO SENSE AT ALL.
The best APS-C photo camera will long remain the X-H1 : no build quality or EVF compromise, no flip screen, and manual controls.

@veroman. I've been shooting with Fujifilm X-Trans cameras for 6 years and I haven't experienced one single issue with that sensor. If you use the right image editing software you won't have a problem. And I always shoot RAW.

LenRivers: Are you using a tripod and gimbal ? If so what's your set up?

Who are you asking? These are shots taken by many people in a the 2021 Audubon Photography awards. I'm sure there are a selection of camera and lens supports used. Read the article!

Nice, gritty image. Should have scored better.
Makes me wonder about the people voting in this challenge - what were they expecting, and if any of them have ever shot medium format or film.

Lovely shot. It should have rated far higher.

Film photography will always be film photography. Think about it... up until digital photography came along, who ever referred to photography as an 'analogue' process? No-one! It was just 'photography'.

Really? So the clouds on Jupiter and Saturn are water? I'll make a note of that.

"...plus new car and motorcycle tracking capabilities." But I shoot vintage cars and motorcycles. Dang!

I used to shoot orthochromatic film in 120 format for portraits, in one case for an advertising sign. I loved it - and I really do believe it would be very difficult to reproduce the look digitally. I think it was 6 or 8 ISO... long time ago.

CeeDave: Impressive variety and indicated prices. But, as a still photographer, I do not like declicked apertures. I’d find it especially inconvenient for macro on a lens that can’t transmit f/stop to the camera for display in the viewfinder. Declicking a macro lens aperture is a head scratcher to me.

You beat me to it, Dave.

This is one of those shot that barely works as a thumbnail, but looks stunning at full size. As a large print hanging on the wall, it would be a knockout. It's a pity people don't look at the entries they vote on at original size.

Great work, Lance.

SomeGuyWithACamera: That would buy like 1/2 a Leica! (it had to be said)

It really didn't have to be said. "Besides a £5000 grant *and camera gear*, each winner will also get access to ..." It pays to read the text.

Wonderful and long overdue.

Now all we need are lessons in the pronunciation of Japanese names like Nikon. The correct pronunciation in Japanese is 'Nee-kon'. 'Nick-on' in most of the rest of the world. And 'Neye-kon' in the USA. Webster has a lot to answer for.
