Anybody know what the hell is going on with their production of this lens? Was the lens factory damaged in the earthquake as well? I've been waiting for 3 months for my pre-order

abortabort: I don't understand this article, the official price in the US is $2599. It was announced a couple months ago.

@ Antares103: The lens has already been released (albeit in limited quantities) back in August, and DPReview is talking about the converter like you can't order it until the end of October, which was also released back in August. Also, they are eluding to the fact that the US pricing of $2600 that online retailers have been using is incorrect.

Daspletosaurus: Adorama's listing it for $2600. For comparison, the Canon 70-200 is currently selling for $1950 - 4% credit, so about $1875. The Nikon 70-200 is going for $2100 - 2% credit, so let's call it $2050. I'd love to know what is it about the Sony that justifies a 30% price premium.

You do realize the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L II had an initial price of $2,500, right?

Yeah, this article is very confusing and flat out wrong about the price and release date

db.: Too bad such attractive an image goes that badly accompanied by a "title" like that: neither informative nor amusing or witty ... nor nothing!

I thought I changed the title to "Cambridge, MD Lighthouse". I guess I accidentally changed the description instead.

There should be a way to see the results with the 0.5 and 1.0 votes removed
