Though it's a minor thing--- how is the rendition of greens/foliage now with the new sensor and processing?

Lightroom is not the issue. The cameras jpegs are just the same.

forpetessake: Have patience, Fuji is slowly moving there. It's just a few more years and they will finally add tilting touchscreen LCD, some useful grip, and hopefully get rid of the Trans in the sensor name. And maybe even enable 4k video capabilities.
Too bad, other manufacturers will be releasing full frame by that time more compact and lighter than this one.

I dont see any advantage to the sensor in real life use. Any positives are far outweighed by the negatives. It is noise reduced to within an inch of its life and sucks battery life.

Bueche: Does the x-trans III have the same devastating effect on everything that's bright green/yellow/orange, just as earlier versions of x-trans?

It is now more magenta than cyan. The film simulations are now nothing like generation 1.

AdamT: 24mp - great - shame they didn`t ditch X-Trans :( this would have been an excellent opportunity to do so .

They just keep digging a bigger hole. The smearing and salt and pepper noise reduction does not look good. The processor intensive demosaic sucks battery life and steals energy which would be better used for focusing.

villagranvicent: Too many new tech features, including the crappy X-Trans sensor.

It is the Achilles heel of the system. I would rate my xt1 at 12mp compared to a bayer sensor.

StefanD: Great to see that Olympus has managed to fulfill the promis of much smaller lenses for the u43 system.
Oh wait... it's actually larger and heavier than the Canon 300 F4. Huh, why's that?

Optically it has to be better to compensate for the smaller sensor and different flange distance. This means a larger lens.

Dont matter. Everything is heavy at that age.

Dervast: since I am not "experienced" what would be the reason to buy this camera if I do not shoot sports, birds and I am a happy dx user for studio, portraits and wedding work with the d7200? Video looks better on d500 and is question if d500 would have better iso or dynamic range performance compared to the d7200. Any clues?
Are the bodies the same with the d7200?
Alex

It is very sturdy and would suit a mans big hands
