I don't understand the hate/complaining here. There is obviously a use for sky replacement in commercial photography such as marketing, where the professional must meet the client's requirements,...

Personally, I don't see much improvement over the Panasonic 100-400, especially considering the massively extra weight (2x), size (2x) and cost (5x). f4.5 v f6.3 at the long end and the built-in TC ...

I started to watch the review, but it lost me at 2.5 kg weight. Think I’ll stick with my 420g Olympus 75-300.

Why stop at 600mm? 800mm is where it starts to get interesting.

HI, just wondering what is a good affordable full frame (mirrorless) camera for adapting old film lenses, in terms of ease of manual focus (ability to see clearly what is in focus)? Thanks

@zzt231 You may be right, but even with the iPhone there is still a massive difference between foreground and background. When shooting video, the iPhone behaves just like my Sony a6000 did....

You're right. My 5-year-old iPhone has far better AF than my Panasonic camera. Especially during video. I still like my Panasonic camera though.

Posterization in landscape images is ugly. When you upload a photo to social media or text it to someone, the file is automatically processed/downsized and the posterized sky becomes pixelated,...

Alan Schaller’s go to lenses are 24mm and 50mm. Henri Cartier-Bresson mainly used a 50mm lens. I like their taste in focal lengths.

Were you planning to make so much money from these photos that the risk of 2.7MP versions being stolen from DPreview was significant? If you were planning to sell them and make a decent amount of ...

You're right, 35mm is boring. Nothing perfect about it. As soon as you begin to go wider or longer, you get more interesting shots.

Not a fan of 35mm, but the must useful prime I’ve ever used was a sigma 30mm, which provided an equivalent 45mm on APS-C. It just seemed the perfect focal length for so many different situations,...

Panasonic G9, released 5 years ago, shoots raw stills at 60 fps.

23mm is a nice focal length. The problem is, millions of clueless people often use the main camera on these phones to snap portraits, which makes people look horrendous, with super skinny torsos,...

Wait till you’ve tried the AF in the latest Sony cameras, may change your mind. I recently sold Sony RX 10 IV because I wasn’t happy with the IQ (specifically the ugly out of focus rendering), but...

How about the Canon 1DX with the Canon EF 1200 f5.6 L lens attached to it? Weighing only 18kg (40 pounds) and with a total length of only 1 metre, this stealthy combination is guaranteed to escape...

Telephoto lenses are definitely excellent for street photography. Also ultra-wide lenses. That’s why I think limiting yourself to a 35mm equivalent lens and calling it the best street photography...

X100 series sticks out like a sore thumb too. Except for X100 v, which has the tilting screen so you can hold it at waist level.
