User9362470513: I sold my D750 and lenses and moved to a Sony A7Riii and am loving the new camera. I miss the clarity of an OVF but the ability to zoom to focus in AF or MF, focus peaking in MF, and the ability to review the image through the viewfinder on bright, sunny days is great. I also love the IBIS and the much smaller and lighter size. I carry the Sony with a 35mm or 55m lens around most of the time, while the Nikon never came out of its bag other than on special occasions. The images from the 42MB sensor are also wonderfully sharp and detailed.

Before I bought the D750, I had been a Canon user since 1996, with a Sony A700 at one point, along with various Sigmas.

Having said all of that, I hate all the tedious fanboy wars on here. I hope Nikon, Canon, Pentax, Olympus and Panasonic all remain profitable and successful. It is important for photography that consumers have choice and variety. I also think it is good that venerable brands like Nikon continue. So well done to them.

I share the same sentiment...

It makes sense for Nikon. The high profit margin they have on their high end DSLRs -- Nikon always impressive with their pro cameras -- is great for the company's bottomline numbers.

Scott Mac: ...has nothing to do with freedom

I will disagree. USS Missouri is the "bookend" of WWII - The battleship where signing of the unconditional surrender of Imperial Japan. This is the ultimate symbol of the defense of FREEDOM.
