About me:

Pretty much a life long photographer (I started around age 9 with a Konica C-35 Rangefinder as my first serious camera). I was hooked on Pentax for my personal use as soon as I picked up an MZ-7 and I've basically been on the Pentax system ever since.
I've dine everything from weddings, charity events, to commercial/editorial for AutoTrader Canada and as a contract shooter for another automotive media outlet. It's been an interesting road and I give back to the community I love through my YouTube channel.

  • Still buy it. I just don't see any reason it wouldn't be an improvement over my K-3.
  • 2 features I never thought I'd use is processing jpegs in camera, custom image and saving a raw copy while shooting jpeg. Okay, that's 3 things. The one thing I never use is composition adjustment. ...
  • I'm not expecting any detailed specs on the new APS-C camera, or lenses. I have a feeling that this will be nothing more than what the future path is going to be for Pentax as a camera brand. This ...
  • Woah lol. Where did the idea that they should stop development come from? because I never eluded to that, anywhere. But to answer your question, no , I do not need a 50/1.4 or 85/1.4, and I'm sure ...
  • AF.C is Auto Focus - Continuous. Some call it AI, Servo, 3d, tracking. But outside the individual naming per brand, it's the setting that allows the camera to continuously adjust as long as you ...
  • I don't get the whole MP race in anything outside marketing jargon. I print large, 24x36" to 30x40" off of my K-30 and K-3 (anyone would be hard pressed to know which camera was used for each ...
  • Interesting, when I was doing nightclub photography, I had to use the 50 1.8 on occasion and never had an issue with image quality or the focus ability (with a K-30) all the way up to 12,800 iso.
  • Well...... Technically I prefer my SIgma 17-70. The 35 and 50 are definitely different types of lenses that achieve different things. I may actually just go random street walking with the 35 and ...
  • The other answers pretty much covered the differences. There are some other things that may be affected when using BBF (At least with the cameras that I've used). When using certain settings (such ...

  • Well, if you want to go down that route, every setting will effect everything technically. Below is assuming you're using manual exposure and I stated previously... This is on the most basic level ...
  • Uhh, okay. I know what the technical meaning is, but last I checked, this is the beginner area. I was only trying to explain (as I said) in the simplest terms possible how a camera sees things ...
  • I know that. But that's not how the camera interprets it. The camera sees it as light coming towards it, hence the same as backlit. The light is still in front of the lens shining towards it. ...
  • It will. Read my post right above yours :) And hello fellow VSDC'er lol
  • From my experiences, this is how flash exposure works on a most basic level . Aperture: Controls the amount of flash lighting that gets captured when you take the picture. Shutter Speed: Controls ...
  • My Desktop (Windows 10 64 Bit, 12 GB Ram and an SSD Drive with an 8 core Xeon processor) Although powerful, never ran Lightworks (free edition) properly. I tried Shotcut and Openshot, they both ...
  • The simplest way to shoot the moon is to change your cameras metering to spot metering. The moon is very bright on a black backdrop, you don't want to be metering for the whole sky when the only ...
  • Created user review thread DA 35 2.4 vs DA 50 1.8
Review comparison of both the DA 35 2.4 and DA 50 1.8 head to head. Which one is better? That's actually up to you...
  • No problem! Thanks for watching 🙂
  • Thanks for watching! I would love to do all these comparisons, but unfortunately, I don't have the 1.4 converter, I will have to give the HD DA 55-300 F/4.4-5.8 back as I borrowed it, and I do not ...
