Am I correct in saying these photos would be "around" 55MB each?

PaulSnowcat: Nikon, look at Sony! It's ML system got MANY-MANY users due to chinese AF adapters that allow to mount Canon and Nikon lenses and still have AF working. Even some MANUAL lenses have AF on Sony E system now due to adapters! Do not miss this opportunity, open the mount specifications to other manufacturers! This will only do good to you!

I will watch ebay for a A7 II, but since I've been watching over the past few weeks, most of them go for a few hundred dollars less than what I can get a new one for at Amazon. Not spending that much on used... I will just shell out the extra $$ to get it new if I have to. My Canon SL1 has lasted me 5 years and still a good little camera, but I want a bigger sensor. If I buy new, I would hope to get 5+ years out of it (I would also hope to get 5yrs out of a used one also). [my wife laughs as I say this... oh well]

Thanks for the info all.

Wow, was I off on the 55-200. It is a 70-300.

If I start out with the Sony A7 II and the Sony 50mm f1.8, then I would be happy. Will see what deal I find when I buy.

The 55-200 is FF and I have one other but not at home right now and don't remember the mm, but it said it was FF/APS-C on the box back when I got it.

Looking at the Sony A7 II. Would do the first A7, but I want in-camera IS. My lenses are the kit 18-55, Canon 18-135 IS, Canon 55-200 IS and Tamron 28-75 IF. I lived on the 18-135 as my main lens for years, then picked up a Panny LX100 as a pocket cam and fell in love with the f1.8 lens. Thus leads me to where Im at today. Had the Sigma 50mm f1.4 for Canon in my Amazon cart about a week ago when I realized I could get a Sony A7 ii at ebay for not much more. Why Sony? Would love the full frame camera with the Sony 50mm f1.8. Im sure the pics would be amazing.

OMGosh... you just sold me. That was my biggest concern in moving off the Canon echo system and having to repurchase the few nice lenses I use all the time. It would be a nice way to get moved over. My lenses are IS and designed for Canon FF, but I use them on my APS-C. Ive been thinking I wanted to move to FF, but the total conversation cost was going to be UGG. Doesn’t mean I wouldn’t eventually buy a nice Art lenses or Sony 50mm f1.8 for it later. Ebay is a great place. Lol. Thanks!!

PaulSnowcat: I’m new to the Sony A7 arena. Are tou saying if I buy a Fotodiox Pro Fusion Smart Adapter - Canon EOS (EF/EF-S) D/SLR Lens to Sony Alpha E-Mount Mirrorless Camera Body, then I can connect my Canon USM FF lenses to a Sony A7 and continue using them? (Serious question)

Aroart: The term " Need to keep being brave" is a bunch of !?!?!..... What are they battling some sort of WAR... They had every chance to come out with a camera that would destroy the competition.... Instead they came out with something that will not make pros completely jump ship from there dslr's... At least Sony, Panasonic and Fuji are pushing there cameras to be the best they can create .. No excuse for week battery life and a single memory card slot.. Photographers should come together and boycott there first attempt and make them realize their not fools.. Only way to make a big corp open there eyes is through there wallet..

Aroart: BOOM! Exactly!

When the Sony A7.3 came out, Nikon and Canon said to not give up on them. Once their mirrorless came out, I expected them to be comparable in price and features. If I already had a Nikon, then I could see the draw for existing lenses. I just figured the price would be competitive... but then I see the name on the camera and realize you have to pay extra for that.

Cool but it seems like if you do not already have the Nikon DSLR ecosystem with lenses, then I would think the Sony a7 III would be better buy for the money.
