mastix: Always a bad decision to give images away for exposure. After some falling..... everybody learns sooner or later. All those misleading articles like the one above are really marketing traps that make only richer the investors of such sites. Photographers should be smarter to not fall into these misleading informations and predatory promises.

Agree !

Bit like the prostitute that did it for free... had 10,000,00 clients until she became ill and no one knew her !

Nicolas ... your interaction with your girlfriend is a personal and private affair not a business ( I would presume) However the difference between a prostitute or other business deal is that it is open and up front, everyone knows the cost before taking part and agrees to the terms. ....... a wife on the other hand only truly shows you the cost of the interaction when her divorce solicitor hands you the deal ! Far more messy and unpredictable, often costing way more than you ever thought. Rather like when your free to use outfit sells to a large commercial agency that then claims full commercial rights to everything you placed with them . Whilst they make a fortune you sit with nothing other than regret.

zkz5 my website was bought from a template company and paid for , it was not taken for free. Yes the company that produced it was from Russia ( or a breakaway) and did not charge a large amount , but they made their price and it was paid for !

Ken60: You no doubt, as a very particular person, checked my portfolio and style before you hired me for such an important shoot. I did the photographs as I always do, yet now you dislike my style!

Or is it you bought and ordered the base model with the wind up windows and now want to drive away in one with Sat Nav and electric heated seats ? The error looks like yours. Please pay the remainder of the fee within 30 days or we will recover the remainder. As a compromise please return all images as provided (only very low res or contact prints before full fee.) And we will cancel the order, note all deposit paid is retained for cancellation and attendance at event.

Not you ....bye

Ken60: Lacie ...hmmm living in the shadow of the death of a Lacie USB drive. Lost everything and all they could say was " thanks for reaching out to us " and " you should always back up !" Never dawned on them that what failed was their Lacie backup ! Used several (5) 250gig Seagate drives for off line storage , funny that they all dead too .
So do I want a combination as my safe secure storage ? lol

Other articles have stated that when you remove this make from statistics 3TB drives are not a problem !

I refuse to believe that we require 5 backups just because the guys that build them can then have higher failure rates. On the graph attached 3% is high for some units .... I have had, as mentioned ,several all of a make and size that have failed.... this suggests I dont just have one ! Of course if your in the industry of making drives multiple backups is the thing to suggest.

As someone that started working on ICL mainframes back in 1976 and backing up tape drives , I am sure I have just a little bit of an idea ! As someone that had one of the first digital cameras in the UK for professional use I am sure I have used this process many times. As a consumer I fail to accept the poor quality units sold by some manufacturers . Please search on Lacie Big Disk etc the reports are many. If you feel I malign a company them please follow this link to statistics on 3TB drive failures.

Is it a new fitting for the battery or are they interchangeable with the old ? What about the tubes and adapters ?

Please tell me it offers a codec that allows you to see 5DSR RAW files on your hard drive.... its about time either Canon or Microsoft (or both ) sorted this.
