Please Nikon!

I would like to use my Sigma Art 18-35 and 50-100 in FX mode, as they cover more than just the DX frame and a bit of vignetting is not a downer for me. Could you please dissable the Auto-DX-crop and let us use the full sensor when the camera is paired with APS-C/DX-lenses?

Please!

Daft Punk: Looking at the images I see a very conventional looking body.

I suspect the camera will not have substantial 8k or even 6k capability, simply because there does not appear to be any special vents, fans or heat sinks to deal with the heat issues this would bring.

Lets be realistic.

I just liked your comment because i'm currently hearing Daft Punk.

Cheers :)

nitroman: I have several friends with 50k followers on IG and they earn nothing from it ... And that took years of effort to get that many - unless of course you're rich, young and beautiful ... then it all just falls into your lap.

The appeal of instagram is sharing your existence with other humans and feeling good about it. Now, if you wanna be negative, you could state that this is all about narcism and a postitivly distorted self represantion. If you wish to see the positive aspects, than you could state that Instagram just mirrors the social nature of humanity (in a very visible way).

Chris5685: I've been thinking about creating a Flickr account for some time now, and 60 bucks a year is not really that expensive in my opinion. I really like to browse around in random galleries, and that I can search pictures based on lenses, cameras, etc. I'll wait a bit longer before joining to see if they keep afloat tho.

Well, that logic is kind of not so logic.

If everyone does so, they won't stay alive.

You better hop on now if you want to use the service!

tdl53: This article could be titled, "Capitalism 101 for Socialists/Millenials, with Examples". I second the "know-it-all tone" comment. I am actually amazed every time I turn on my Nikon D850 or examine the photos it takes, that something so complicated and technically excellent (that goes too for Canon, Sony, Panasonic, Fuji, etc. and the 3rd party lens makers) could be sold for such a low price, especially when I think about my 3mp Casio circa 2002.

Don't worry, it was just a joke. And a little reminder that the real innovations are made elsewhere in the photo industry these days :)

I am actually amazed every time I turn on my Huawei P30 Pro or examine the photos it takes, that something so small and technically excellent (that goes too for Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, Sony etc.) could be sold for such a low price, especially when I think about my big chunky Nikon D850 circa 2017.

Its all free.
Stop whining.

It is not free. not at all.

The user sells it's dataset. His control over his shared information (picture, profile, text).
And he has to offer his attention and lifetime to an increasing amount of publicity.
That, I would argue, is a high (nonfinancial) price to pay.

drjhnsn: I shot a similar video from my Mavic Pro during the US eclipse of 2017. I was just outside the painted hills in Oregon. I put the drone up a few minutes before totality, hit record and then focused on taking still pictures with my DSLR. Half way thru the eclipse, I rotated the drone and you can see the shadow move across the ground. I sped up the final video and added sound that I got from the people around me:

That screaming is ridiculous

In reply to:

ZurichPhoto: I don't know how I'd feel about this if I were X1D version1 buyer at $10K. I hope they offer a trade-in-/trade up program for those folks.

Frankly some/most the issues corrected in this version are not driven by technology improvements. They are fixes to some sloppy initial execution -- and now they improved the package at a fraction of the price.... I'd be a little perturbed if I had a Version 1.

@federico

I don't think you're right. In Germany, x1d costs 8500€ without lenses.

Priaptor: I'll be honest. I was an early adopter of the GFX50S, love the camera BUT had this particular version of the Hasselblad been available at this price I probably would have gone with the Hasselblad. I just like it's form factor and ergonomics better.

Unfortunately, Hasselblad is too late to the party.

Too late to your party ;)

I'll gladly invite them to mine!

justnuaces: A secondary touch screen ABOVE the keyboard?
And where they think people lay their wrist? On the keyboard?
It would be useful if it was below the keyboard, with a switch to quickly disable the touch capabilities. As it is, it seems to be a flawed concept.

Then you would end up with an even worse angle of view for the second display.

Also, you can simply deactivate the keyboard when using the second display, id that's your concern.

I think display above keyboard makes more sense for productive work.

Seems very user friendly and brilliant/simple idea.

Imagine just how much co2 emissions are saved due to this little trick.
