T3: That's pretty cool! But like all of Novoflex gear, it's a bit pricey. Hopefully, another vendor will come up with a less expensive alternative that does the same thing.

The first container load of Chinese knock-offs should hit Long Beach harbor in about 10 days.

Jonathan Sabin: Due to my inability to read Thai, I can't really tell what's being said about it, but there ARE a bunch of sample photos taken with this lens...

Thanks for the link. Technical data on a page doesn't say the real story that the simple selling point of a few images to view can convey.
My first instinct was 'this is a sure thing, for the money'. Now I'm not so certain. I would like something to use in the dark of night on video mostly, and stills just because the lens would be handy. That very shallow DOF with fall off of focus halfway across the focal plane at wide open gives me second thoughts.

Kirk Bruner: Never set anything down. Anywhere. Ever. The only safe place is on you. If you're alone, you're a target. This is why they make shoulder straps. Nothing is ever safe.

I read many years ago to also run a steel guitar string inside the strap of the bag and camera to keep slash and dash thieves from an easy snatch.
And I just saw this second part of Brett's saga.

It doesn't say if he actually got his rig back, but it does raise more questions about safety at the Rio venue.
