Mister J: These are not hi-res images.

As presented here they are far worse than I get from my iPhone 5s.

Yeah, yeah, of course. Whatever you say...

Buying yourself a status.

Focusing with such focals is not really a problem.
For example, at 10mm f5.6,on a FF, hyperfocal is about 0.6m, wich means than everything is in focus from 0.3cm to infinity...
You just have to put the focus ring at inginity, and you're good.

Sony is... something else.

On article RED unveils RAVEN, a lightweight and portable 4K camera (158 comments in total)

There is a rumor about Ricoh buiying Red :
http://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/16-pentax-news-rumors/304059-pentax-ff-spring-2016-a-21.html#post3375946

It could be a clever move from Ricoh, Red build their own sensors & processors, it could give Ricoh/Pentax some independance from Sony/Fujitsu.

The user who spread the rumor, Kenspro, is pro photographer affiliated to Pentax.

It's the Tamron supersonic motor.

colesf: If Pentax's past is any clue to the future, then
A. It will be a year behind schedule
B. The AF and metering performance will still lag behind everyone else

You can't bring out a new camera system based on either decades-old lens designs or hoping that legacy lenses will suffice. They need to bring out many more updated lens designs with reliable AF motors.

"metering performance will still lag behind everyone else"
The Pentax metering system is better than any other brand...

W4YNE 1: As with most Zeiss lenses very impressive and I am tempted, my only worry with manual focussing is if in the future my eyesight begins to deteriorate what I will perceve as being in focus will not be?

Nice images with the new Milvus and older Zeiss lenses.

"Af confirm chip will make it as accurate as any AF-lens ;-)"
At 100mm f2 ?
Good luck.

It's funny, the Pentax K5II was capable of focusing at -3 Ev since 2012, but DPR don't even notice it in their review's pros & cons :

Same story for the Canon 6D :

If you shot moving objects with pixel shift, the moving parts of the image won't be processed, but only the non-moving parts !

Zenza R: Only limitation of this camera is the little control over DOF... For now, there is nothing to do about it :/

"Wait another year or two, Sony might put a curved APS-C sensor in that same body ;)"'
You won't see a curved sensor in a zoom camera, it needs a fixed lens to perform correctly.

The only industrial standards we have came from Europe, we share them with Germany, U.K... in fact, most of them are worldwide, like ISO's standards.
But yeah, i agree, we have inner standards for wine, cheese and food stuff... but not for cameras, sorry.

Shangri La: Very intriguing product. But I see 2 major things:

- IOS only, no Android?
- SuperRAW mode only works with DXO RAW converters, but not other RAW converters?

Hope other manufacturers will follow suit and mature the concept. Price will go down too.

As said in the article, the raw files include a DNG which can be opened with any digital development program.
