I grew-up with Leica, Olympus, Kodak, and the chemical fragrance of my father's darkroom. My first camera was a brand new Brownie Hawkeye when I was seven years old. The Hawkeye made sense, because my mother worked for Kodak. Over the years I have owned numerous Kodak, Nikon, Olympus, Rollei, and Mamiya film cameras. Then, after discovering digital, I have owned several Nikon DSLRs and a few small Nikons, Sonys, Olys, and Canons.
Today, I shoot about 70/30 digital and film. While the immediacy and editability of digital has such an allure, there is still something primal about B&W film.
Professionally, I started flying in 1968 and have flown over most of the USA, and a lot of the Caribbean, Central, and South America. Until I retired, there was always a small camera in my flight case.
