I love James Hoffman’s videos! He’s basically a tech spec nerd but instead of cameras, he talks about coffee. I highly recommend watching the rest of his content; even if you’re not into coffee! Wonderful production quality and generally very soothing.

On article iPhone X vs. Samsung Note 8 (362 comments in total)

To be honest, both of these devices look very competent and can be used to create stunning photographs. I'm pretty invested in the Apple ecosystem so I'll likely get the iPhone X. However, the Note 8 looks like a fantastic, well-designed product!

While I love the size of the Polaroid prints, $2 per photo is way too expensive. Drop that price down to under a buck and then we'll talk.

Moon0326: Um..Erez Marom again.

The title really should be "Erez Maron's weekly photo and paid Ad"

Seriously, it's been only Erez Maron's photo for the last few weeks.

I really like Erez's photos and am always happy to see him featured here! His work is wonderful.

batmatty: I bought a Fuji X-Pro 1 last February as something to play around with alongside my 6D. I haven't used my 6D since. I love the Fuji colors and the exceptional dynamic range. Sure, the X-Pro 1 has some quirks, but that makes it more interesting to use!

I was really hoping the 6D II would be a serious improvement over my 6D, attempting to win back my affections from the Fuji brand. Alas, I am glad I jumped to Fuji while I did because this 6D II is a big disappointment. I seriously think that my five year old X-Pro 1 has better DR than this brand new 6D II.

I like Canon. They make great products. But they need to listen to their customers or, like me and many others, people will start flocking to superior brands.

Totally agree, Nigel. I love the Fuji glass. I bought a 23mm f1.4 used and am astonished at how well it performs! Sharp, excellent color, and beautiful build quality. It's a joy to use!

Made this decision last February and I seriously haven't looked back since! Do it! You will love it.

On article How do you know you need a new camera? (403 comments in total)

I bought a brand new 16MP Fuji X-Pro 1 last year last year because I wanted to downsize from my Canon 6D. Nothing was wrong with it, I just wasn't shooting very often because of its size. Sure, the newer, fancier Fujis were tempting but out of my budget. The X-Pro 1 has been totally and completely sufficient for my needs. Sure, the better, higher res sensors, the faster AF, etc., would be nice but at the moment, this camera works brilliantly for me and does not get in my way. And for something that is around five years old, it still blows me away!

I was really hoping this would be analog, not digital. That is part of the charm with the Fuji Instax series!

The level of detail in this image is insane! Please please please do a fully-fledged studio portrait session with the GFX! I think this is where that camera will shine!

Thanks Barney for these fun photos! This lens won't win any awards for optical excellence but it looks like you had a good time shooting with it. It would be cool to see some street photo examples...maybe with the final report or an updated gallery? Thanks for sharing!

I feel like this iPad is geared towards the education arena and consumers and less the pro market. Apple is loosing out big-time to Chromebooks because of cost. I feel like with a $329 entry point, schools would be more inclined to spend a little extra to get a quality iPad over a cheap, throw-away Chromebook. That is just my two cents though. Hoping for new iPad Pros soon!!

boldcolors: And there they are again. The Fuji-colors. Seriously, just by looking at these samples makes me want to ditch all my fancy-pancy Canon gear and go all-in Fuji. If the XT-2 was a fullsize body I would seriously consider it.

I don't know... they just know how the colors and tones make you feel good. Probably not a high score from a technical perspective, but who cares about that anyway.

Color is art, at least for me.

henrikbengtsson, I made the jump last February and have never looked back! I loved my 6D but the X-Pro 1 I picked up for the cheap as well as a used 23mm 1.4 has been an absolutely amazing combo! Just go for it!

I will gladly take your "rubbish" black X-Pro 2 off your hands so you can buy the graphite model. ;) I'll even do this service for free because I understand your struggle. :)

Oh man. I've had my eye on the 35 f2 for awhile. Bought the 23 f1.4 earlier this year and love it but it's a tad large for a daily driver. This may be a great choice! Now to make a decisions. Curse you Fuji, for giving us so many wonderful lenses at reasonable prices! You make being a customer difficult :)
