all Canon had to do is add Full HD, AA operation and a little more zoom to the G12 and would have done just perfect. Instead, they came up with this that only a few will buy.

Great. I have the same Canon model and I absolutely love it, and this image proves that you don't need the latest gear, you just have to have a good eye.
Good work.

This news just makes me want to run and buy an Olympus...

I don't think you can classify this as a P&S, it's rather large.
And again, this is like a Mercedes or BMW of cameras. Made in Japan quality, I think it is worth every penny. If I had the money I would buy it, but I don't so I just buy an XS1 and keep on driving my 00' Nissan. :-)

Which translates to: you just bought a camera with mediocre performance and subpar lenses. Nice...

At my wedding I hired all the kids there for 5 bucks each and gave them a Vivitar digital camera to snap away. Some crazy pictures... let me tell you. I am just saying that if you need a professional, you will have to pay. Just like you pay for the dress, the ring, the cake, and so on. And you are not in the business, so do not question the integrity of the pros. If you don't like any of it, get key rings for wedding rings, get you clothes at Goodwill, the cake at Sam's Club, etc. In this case, she should have done exactly the latter. Why spend all the money when she will be divorced in a year anyways...

One of the great things about what we like to do. Take that time travel back and see what Yul Brynner saw. I love it, I wish they will make this a travelling show. Hey, pls. bring it to Santa Fe.

I looked these at Target today. They had them in all kinds of colors, even pink.
Built quality looks very mediocre.

It's like a genie flew out of the bottle, and asked: "What do you want in the perfect camera?"
Fuji took the lead. It is amazing how a camera maker can turn around and become the leader in a matter of months. I just pre-ordered the XS1.
