I think it is nice entry level camera, i wish they've put there on sensor PDAF for better video AF. The rest is ok.

Reactive: Seriously now, who does use these cameras? What fields of photography require 150MP and justify a $50k investment?

"There are now 36 million millionaires in the world" so i guess some of them, some rental companies, few top photographers, some agencies.
I think it is more about having the best of the best, so 150MP sounds cooler than 50MP. dunno

No Eye-AF? not a pro camera then...

No. that would require at least 300 megap.

HaoAndHui: How big is the file?

14 bit uncompessed 36 mpix RAW file has aprox 70mb so i guess this phase one is like 250-300mb

gorllu: I see nikon z6/7 this way: if you have nikon gear, lenses, flashes, batteries etc and you want better video features, EVF and FF senzor now you dont have to switch whole equipment, just buy Z camera with lens adapter. Z6/7 are almost identical to A7 iii and a7R iii, sure only one card, no eye-AF, (maybe worst battery life?), but for a lot of people it is not deal breaker. Z6/7 cameras are not suppose to convince sony users to come to nikon, but to give nikon DSLR users reason not to think about switching brands just because they want better video/smaller camera/whatever.

David Bo true, if someone needs fast fps camera for sport, go for something else I would say it is 1 year behind (not talking about IQ)

vFunct: One thing to keep in mind about the card slot is that it's the high-quality XQD, instead of the more failure-prone SD card.

SD cards aren't professional formats. They're only for primitive amateur cameras, like the Sony A7R III or Sony A9. They're slow and fail all the time. They really should be trashed, along with any camera that uses them.

My expirience with SD cards is quite opposite to usernamealreadyinuse :/

String: Things we heard from Nikon users in the last few years:
- I will never buy a camera with an EVF, ever. OVF is the ONLY way.
- LOL, are you going to carry 10 batteries with you?
- IBIS sucks; in lens is way better.
- Adapters are terrible; give me native mount any day,
- Why do you want a smaller camera? I want bigger.

Things we hear from Nikon users today:
- Wow, this EVF is fantastic!
- Battery life is pretty good for a mirrorless.
- It has in-body stabilization; nice!
- I can mount all my lenses with an adapter; nice!
- What no accessory grip?

:D

Nope, you didn't hear it from "nikon users" but from "nikon fanboys" that is quite different thing.

i see this card slot issue in the similar way, although i want two slots for commercial work.
But if the camera uses SD card, you MUST have two slots, cause SD cards are really weak.
If you have XQD or CF, these cards are built like a tank, so chances of failure are lower.
