On article Leica's M11 risks rendering the rangefinder obsolete (215 comments in total)
In reply to:

Oleg Ivanovskiy: Rangefinders were rendered obsolete like 50 years ago, when SLRs came and it became possible to make and comfortably shoot ultra-wide, super telephoto, zoom lenses, then autofocus was invented, and so on. Leica M now is just like expensive mechanical Swiss watches. Beautiful and reliable, but ridiculously overpriced for what they do.

Reliable? Leica M's? ...

On article Have your say: Vote now for best prime lens of 2021 (115 comments in total)

Who has bought all the lenses, scientifically tested them on the most recent camera, and has a well-founded answer to this question?
How can individual photographers know this answer now, Dpreview? You guys need to do these tests, come on, start to work!!!

What is it? Z 9 or Z9; Z 5 or Z5; Z 50 or Z50?
As it stands, your text looks very sloppy. If your text contains spelling mistakes, it gives the impression that the content itself does not matter.

Lots of color abberations! The lens needs a good raw converter and certainly lens corrections.

This is a great photo to show the sharp edges, and onion rings of the bokeh balls ... not so good and a pity. I don't like it.

I did not say that the OOC jpeg was 'better', did I say that really? Funny...
I say that if you lift the shadows too much, noise appears. I never use OOC jpegs.

Too many competitions, too many prizes to attract attention. Art and photography cannot be considered a 100-metre race where there is scientific proof of a winner. Who determines the standards and conditions that a photograph must meet, who is that jury?
Can one say that a photo is worth 8.758 points and the other 9.055? This is all nonsens.
The British have a hand in making everything into competitions, as if it were measurable and desirable. Cooking contests, flower arranging contests, bed and breakfast owner contests, you can't imagine it or there are worthless contests of.
Not important, only for the winner if he or she gets a prize.

Perhaps Zeiss is having such great financial problems that they are throwing the camera on the market anyway, the R&D costs have already been incurred regardless, so get that money.
This is pure speculation on my part, I just have little faith in companies ...

Missed the focus on the eyes, pity! If this was my work, I would not posted it, it landed in the bin. Lovely model.
