Tough, but fair, critique of his post.  I didn't feel they were bad at all, but they did leave room for improvement.  SP is perhaps my favorite photography to look at.  I love a perfectly captured ...

I guess I'm going to have to start dabbling in Photoshop.  Layers seems to be the key to great edits.  That's where Lightroom comes up short.
  • Replied in Lighthouse
That's a cool lighthouse.  I live in Michigan, and we have many lighthouses.  Nothing that grand though.  I hope to see that one in person someday.
  • Just found out that my 15 year old and her friends love doing shoots.  I was so shocked when they asked me to take shots when we were at our cottage that I didn't know what to do.  It's like ...

That is an improvement.  I've come to hate bright backgrounds, and some of my best people photos are compromised by them.  How much time did you spend on that?  I only use Lightroom and am not the ...

That's a lighthouse?  Looks like a castle with a big clock tower.  Where is this lighthouse?
  • You captured that trail very nicely.  One thing about a lot of the photos members post here is they take me to some cool places.  The scenery there is beautiful.

Nice.  I like them all.  The bee is a bit rough at 100% with that shallow depth of field, but who cares?  Looks great in preview.

I like it.  Would love to have been the one standing there.

Nice job.  My problem is, and always has been, a lack of patience.  I just want to point, shoot, and brag about the great shot I just took!  Of course I rarely get what I want.

There's something about a great bird-in-flight shot that still amazes me.  Curious how many tries it took to get such a nice shot.

Neat.  We don't have really old stuff like that here in the US.  I wish we did.
  • I'm awful at this type of photography, so I don't know that I have anything useful to say to critique them.  I do really like the shots looking up at the trees.  To me, those are the most interesting.
  • What I like most about these is that they don't look like they're posed.  Some animal shots, while excellent photos, seem like the photographer got them to pose.  In this case, it's interesting to ...
  • Immediately noticed the lack of lighting on the male in the first photo. For some reason I really like the girl with her arms behind her head. It just seems more like a captured moment than a pose, ...
  • I know some people will never be impressed by a photo taken by a phone, but the bar keeps getting raised.  You could print these on a typical 4x6 and they'd look wonderful.
  • I've been viewing my Sony ARW and DNG thumbs for a long time. Can't remember when I first was able to do it. This "new" extension doesn't seem to bring anything new to me.

  • The first one is really cool.  I like the distortion. I can't identify what I like so much about the second one, but for some reason it really caught my eye.

Not sure what you're going for here.  At first glance, it looked like a head in a box.

Exactly this. The dress is all bunched up too. Someone once pointed me to this video. I'll never get to this point. My brain just doesn't pick up on what's obvious to those people who get it ...
