Stop it! I've had my eye on the EF version and just picked up a 85mm f1.2 EF adapted to Nikon. Great stuff, thanks for sharing!

I recall other DSLR users having a similar issue when the lens was hanging around their necks. How heavy is the lens? Could your ZII lens mount be loose because of this? Just thinking.

Keep you D850 unless you really need Eye/Face AF. Still a great DSLR.

Congrats! You're "older" lenses should be all you need. The Z 50mm f1.8 can be had for a bargain and it's an amazing lens which I highly recommend you should add to your kit.

Thanks for sharing, looks like budget would be the only real factor.

Nikon 85mm f1.2 (fingers crossed).

Never thought about it, good to know. Good luck finding a good copy.

Thanks for all the great insight and replies. I too think the 24-70mm F4 kit is a steal if you picked it up used. My reasoning is this. 1. Thin my bag, I've only taken out the 50mm f1.8s lens a ...

The purple fringing and soft colors are holding me back, if I can get say Jose B's copy then I'd feel much better dropping $1k on it.

I just wanted to pair down my kit, I was thinking the F2.8 would be good enough to replace my 50mm z, and add the other ranges (24 & 70mm).

I've been toying with the idea of selling my 24-70mm F4 and Nikkor Z 50mm f1.8 to fund the move to the Nikkor 24-70mm f2.8 S lens. For those of you that have made the move from Kit to Pro 24-70mm Z ...

What AF mode are you using? I had similar issues when using single, but went I changed to continuous make a big difference. I don't hear the "beep" that I've grown used to but my photos are sharp.

I use the Canon 135mm F2 L lens on my Z6 M1 (via the fringer adaptor) and love it. Waiting to run across a good deal on the Canon 85mm, not sure if I'll go for the F1.4/F1.8/or F1.2.

The fringer works great, fast AF w/eye & face detection.

I picked up mine on the FM forum this past May for $100. IDK if it was at the right time but for some reason they are now in the $150 range.
