Buy now, an R5 II will not be out for a while. The R6 was first released with the old 1DX3 sensor and the R6II got a new sensor. The R5 was first released with a brand new sensor so they wont ...

The mechanical shutter on the R3 isn’t really needed, the only time I used it was when I did a CPS evaluation loan and I tried out both shutter modes. After I purchased my R3 I’ve just used the ...

Exactly, when you compare it it to a modern camera it’s ridiculously loud.
-
I have to disagree, all the 1DX bodies sound like a freight train going by. I never noticed it until I switch to the R5 then I realized just how loud they were.
-
I didn't think they would release one so soon. It's not like the R6 that was using an old sensor from the start, the R5 was released with a brand new sensor.

It dropped last month around the time most Presidents Day sales were going on. I bought mine in the beginning of January and wished I waited but needed it for a trip before then.

I would say don't waste time with the 400 DO and look at used EF 600 F4 IS II for about the same price. Then get the 1.4 and 2X III TC's to get you to 840/5.6 and 1200/8.

It was towards people complaining about Canon now charging for something but they don't want to buy Canon lenses.
-
Seems like a few people complaining about losing what was a free service in Europe also complaining about third party lenses. Maybe if they would be willing to buy more Canon lenses they would ...

I'm a CPS Gold in the US and I think it was $100 or $120 for the year. I've only used it's services twice since 2017 a cleaning when I was near a repair center and I did an evaluation loan with the ...

Modern autofocus with eye tracking or subject tracking are amazing. Depending on what you shoot you may not need any of it but if you do they are game changers.

The Fuji is a crop, 1.5 unlike Canons 1.6.

Yea the R is $1399 now at B&H with the same sensor as a 5DIV

Something like a 24-105 and a 100-400 or 150-600 will probably give you the most range with just two lens set up then. I don’t think anyone has made a 24-600 and if they did it probably wouldn’t be ...

Big and heavy are subjective so is saying wider focal range is where most photography is done. The OP asked for how much zoom is needed because they want to do more wildlife shooting, wide angles ...

If I had to give up my Canon gear I’d go with the Olympus/OM System OM 1 or OM D EM1X and the Olympus 150-400 F4.5 with built in TC
-
For portrait shots the mirrorless eye af and 100% focus point coverage could speed up your workflow but for landscape shooting no difference between a 5DIV or a mirrorless body.

If you want more megapixels to crop the Fuji XT5 has 40 and they have a new 150-600 lens. I don’t know to much about them but I’m sure they are decent.

I think Sigma made a 60-600 in EF. If you just want one lens to leave on the camera that maybe the best option. If you want a good zoom lens just for wildlife the Canon 200-400 F4 with built in TC ...
