Reactive: I've always been suspicious of Domke 'value' since I saw a £40 Domke tripod bag that was no better than the free canvas carrying bag that came around a £20 camping chair. The price here of $109 seems a little steep for what amounts to a completely useless sack - unless you're up a tree collecting apples.

Have you used one or your commentary is based on this article and from looking at it ?

I have one and other Domke bags for years now.....sturdy, these bags age well.....

drummercam: DPR has lots of responsibilities and, very definitely, massive expertise. IT'S A GREAT WEBSITE! I teach photography and recommend that the students go here first. THANK YOU, DPR! SINCERELY!

But curiously, it's only Pentax that generates this kind of dust-up. I have here said before that there seems to be a downplay bias in the syntax or language ("Special K"?). I do notice people mentioning reviews of other cameras they felt were off. All us fanboys have an ax to grind, don't we.

Still, . . .

Did you disclose to your students to go to DPR & disclosed your screen name?

Thanks to @dpthoughts for keeping the brand in the spotlight! :-D

Funny thing about @dpthoughts and his crusade against Pentax fanboys. He is unknowingly really giving Pentax K1 mark II a boost in exposure, in a way getting folks' attention to Pentax. He is drawing folks' attention to this new offering from Pentax.....any exposure, positive or negative, is always good.

pentaust: Yesterday I was looking a Sony A7 series mirrorless lineup next to Nikon DSLR ()D850, D500) cameras and lenses. So, at equal aperture, Sony lenses are even larger than DSLR lenses. I've realized that Nikon and Canon DSLR bodies are huge. Sony mirrorless A7 series body are smaller than the average human hand making it unconfortable to hold. The Pentax K1 body is built to match the average human hand size, making it one of the most comfortable camera to shoot with. The K1 II is an optimized version of K1, faster more responsive autofocus, and more usable photos at high iso. I find that what forum member "dpthoughts" is telling here is completely non-sense compared to reality of what the Pentax K1 system is.

Sunshine......there are lots of folks, me included, buy what we think is best. This decision is NOT based because more people like it. You got to respect that.

This has become a comedy skit, what a joke. Body too small for that lens, then buy a camera grip. Brilliant !!! But but I thought you purchased the Sony because of its compact size ? Why is the lens still huge and then spend more $$$$ for a battery grip ? Hilarious !!!

The picture of that guy taking picture with that gigantic lens......did I hear mirrorless is compact ? Portable ? Awful choice to promote mirrorless. Plus, oh my, that pics screams ---- I am a equipment ho. Terrible choice of picture.

Ergonomics is often forgotten in this race for compactness. I likewise looked at Sony A7. My hands are not not big big, but the Sony body was uncomfortable for me to hold.

I looked at the amount of gear that bag can hold, my arthritic lower back started acting up. Oh btw, that is one ugly bag.

More importantly, these results are more important to 'pixel peepers'. High ISO ? I ain't in the same lane as folks who really use this feature.

Great to hear Madbrain !!!

chopsteeks: Seriously, this comparison should be taken with a grain of salt ? Using two different lenses ? Really DPreview ? This is an amateur oversight.

Honestly, I stopped reading after this assertion ----- "The idea is that the lens shouldn't matter at all, as long as a manufacturer is capable of producing at least one prime lens which outresolves the sensor."

My my my, stop stop being a measurebator and use the God given vision !!

Arastoo.....I am not questioning if this was a real pic or not. But the photo, in my opinion, got photoshopped to enhance the effects.
