Arastoo.....I am not questioning if this was a real pic or not. But the photo, in my opinion, got photoshopped to enhance the effects.

Really can't see anything spectacular......just all hype. This might be the most overrated camera to date.

That was one expensive wedding. Now, how about her shoe collection ?

R. Scott Sherman: Pentax K-1(II) is a great camera. But unfortunately it’s an outdated cinder block thanks to Pentax. I give them 5 years tops. They can’t even update their YouTube page. Sony is going to bury them.

Dial back a bit with this auto-everything......reason why I am saving $$$$ to purchase this Pentax. A real-photgrapher's tool, requires a bit of understanding of the fundamentals of photography.

The Sony 24-105mm lens is $1,300 ? The Pentax FA counterpart is $500. Pentax K1Mark II is a better option for folks like me with limited funds allocated for this hobby.

Does not bother me one bit.....clicking is not physically demanding .

pookipichu: It's upsetting there's no news or support for the Pentax 645Z with regard to lenses or a replacement model. Not a good way to treat the professionals using Pentax products.

Why did you buy Pentax instead of Phase One ?

Really not sure the complaints about size and heft about this lens. Folks....if you want compact system, limped-wrist, wants to do street photography and inconspicuous.....look the other way now !!!

But if you are a portrait, studio type person, strong back and very fit, wants to have unique pics.....wants to have the baddest and biggest lens.......yes this lens is for you.

Oh yes, also you need lots of room on that credit card cause this will not be cheap and a wife or husband that loves you a lot.

keepreal: Why do none of the leading lens manufacturers make a series of high quality, compact lens of f/4 or smaller?

In my opinion, this is a conspiracy. How is this possible? Quite simply, there are lots of folk out there who have little sense. I am not talking of the people who have a genuine need for a wide aperture but the 80% I reckon who do not. I cannot back up that figure but that is my best guess.

Benjamin Kanarek wants this lens and he appears not to be the only one. Not yet is this the case here, but when DPR gives the numbers who own a product, used to or want to, people jump to say they have it or had it before the product even is available.

This is a Sigma Art lens. That means it must be good, not that all in the series are especially, certainly not up to what you would expect for the size, weight and prices.

Between the one kind of madness and another, is it any wonder that so many of these monoliths are produced. The manufacturers are laughing all the way to the bank.

Ah.....camera makers, lens makers....car makers.....have been laughing on the way to the bank a long long time ago. Otherwise this Sigma Art lens will not even be in existence...these 30+ mega pixel monsters will be on limited release.

When the Fedex or UPS guy comes around and she is home......yikes...will be a long long day or sometimes weeks. Otherwise, I can conceal a lens quite well.

Contrary to some comments here, I love heavy lenses. I get more highly focused handheld shots taken from heftier lenses.

Anytime I can undercut my expenses, hey why will I turn this down ? I am extremely happy with the 3 Art lenses I own, Sigma makes great lenses to compliment my style and my abilities.

Keep the lower cost options going please.

sandy b: The Nikon has been a proven excellent lens. Superb, even. I know people that switched brands just because of this lens. Don't you think you should test the lens before "600 reasons"? It IS a bout the quality, right? The Nikon will actually keep it's value, the sigma will lose 20% the second you open the box. Now, if it test the equal or superior, which I doubt, remember the 24-70? Then you can yell about 600 reasons.

The top tier Sigma lenses are very very good. I expect this new lens to be quite good also.

Value ? When I invest in a lens at this price range, I have plans of keeping the lens for a long long time.

Link | Posted on Feb 24, 2018 at 02:22 UTC

Darn, with some luck I might actually be able to afford to get a brand new one.....
