Whoa Mr. Bolton. 28%? May I ask what you sell? I've had over 1000 transactions on ebay through the years, some of selling equipment we no longer need and never have we paid Ebay more than 10%. Not once. Paypal takes 3%. I'm curious what you sold to merit 28%. Unless you are factoring in shipping which should be part of it as you need to add shipping charges to your item if you wish.

Agree. Though 25% is high. Ebay is 10% and that already feels high.
But you do get 100% if you use as gift certificate.

Well...you don't have to use their system so I would not say confiscated which has a sense of coercion. Here you have a choice to use or not use their site.

Is this legal? It must be, but I would think that Peak would have some way to protect their design....?

Sine_Nomine: I'm going to 'Vegas to do some crowdfunding... Er, I mean, gambling.
I never really understood the crowdfunding model. This is what I understand: I see a product I might like. I pay money up front, and in return, I get to wait an indeterminate amount of time, after which I might receive the product, or not. And if lady luck shined upon me and I received the product, and it breaks two months later, well, there's no manufacturer's warranty on it.
Sign me up.

As a supporter of a fair number of Kickstarter, I too have had a few that never delivered. However, overall, I am so far ahead in value received even accounting for the losers that I continue to support projects. Of course, for the really large projects in the four figures, I call the creator himself to talk first and get a sense of who they are. This is no guarantee but does mitigate some risk.

Moses: The pixel shift resolution is amazing. I wonder if it will work with landscape given light breezes.

Thanks.

Moses: Can someone who has more experience confirm this for me regarding the video? Compared to the Sony A7Siii, it looks like the R6 1080 and 4K are clearly sharper and more detailed than the Sony? I'm surprised. This is excellent performance when it come to detail. Or am I missing something? Thanks.

Thank you.

Assuming I'm using HDMI out, and not recording to a memory card, does the R6 still have a 30 minutes time limit (not due to overheating) in both 1080 and 4k? Thanks.

Moses: Not sure if I am correct, but looking at the video resolution stills in both 4K and 1080p, the Canon R6 is better on all fronts than the A7Siii? Is it just that the Canon has higher contrast or does it really have better video resolution? Surprised. 1080p is particularly interesting to me due to the smaller file size and the type of transmission I need to do. Thanks.

Well, the 1080 of the A7iii & A9 are clearly worse than the A7Siii and the R6...

wcan: Whenever I see sharpness comparisons between cameras I always wonder about the different cameras' default sharpening setting. Do your tests normalize for that?

In addition, do you take the different cameras' video files and see how they respond to sharpening in post?

Supposedly at 4K 60 and 120 frames, the A7Siii is sharper than the Canon R5 and Panasonic as they drop every other line or something along that idea.

More MegaPixels: Get the A7iii
The Sony A7iii is a better camera.

The problem here is the A7C isn't small enough compared to the A7iii to matter. And other FF cameras actually weigh less! Neither fit in a pocket with a lens. You still need the same size bag to carry the camera with lenses. Lenses are the same size.

Again get the A7iii. There are to many compromises for no good reason.
That teeny EVF panel is horrendous.

Depends on one's priorities. For me, the better AF, especially during VIDEO is a must and hence A7C over the A7iii.

More MegaPixels: This is just a consumer video camera that isn't good for quality detailed stills. It lacks everything from shutter angle settings, to vectorscopes, to full 4K video (C4K/DCI 4K). And most new real cameras acquire at least 5K or 6K for creating 4K video, (did you know many comedies as well as action videos are now shot in 8K even though the final product won't be greater than 4K because all the benefits and time savings of shooting 8k)

Unfortunately for a little more there are video cameras that blow this one away like the RED Komodo. The only way to get quality video from the A7Siii is to buy an external recorder (higher bit rates and RAW), but resolution is still too low to get 4K of detail because of the bayer filter and no significant over sampling.

Except for the Sony diehards, the A7Siii is actually a bit a of joke in the video industry,

Just get one of these if you are serious about video.

The RED Komodo is $6K right? Almost double of the A7Siii. Seems like a different category.
