nekrosoft13: at this point why even buy a drone?

Soon you won't be able to fly them anywhere....

not allowed to fly them in parks, forest, in cities, by homes, by private properties, in the state I live almost everything is owned by someone, with all these rules expanding and expanding, soon you won't be able to fly them anywhere.

Actually in Canada you are required by law to obtain a Special Flight Operations Certificate from Transport Canada for the operation of a drone. There are a couple of exemptions, one being for drones with a normal take off weight of kg or less, but even then you are required to complete and file a Exemption Notification Form. While this isn't formal licensing, it means you can't by law just go buy one and start flying it around.

geepondy: First film camera as a kid was a Kodak Instamatic that took 120 film and used "magic cubes". As an adult I eventually made my way up to a Minolta XD-11 SLR. First digital was a Nikon CP900 in 1998, 1megpixel, $1000 and I sure was the envy of my friends. I later moved up to a CP990 and many since. I think Nikon ruled in the early days of relatively affordable digital cameras, say from 1998-2000 or so.

Kodak Instamatic 133 here. Very early 70's I think. Then in around '72, bought a Zenit E. Totally manual camera. You were forced to learn photography with that camera.

villagranvicent: What an ugly monster.

AS DSLR's go, I think it is quite attractive. I prefer the rounder lines you get with the bigger bodies, vs the squarer lines with the mirror-less.

Tieu Ngao: Nikon D750 is better than all these 4 cameras on this IQ test scene.

To my eyes, the D750 is the worst of them all, A99II, D810, 5DMIV, D750. That's comparing apples to apples......

btolley: Well, given no comment on LR, I would hope it is continuing as a stand-alone perpetual license. Have LR5, did not upgrade to LR6. If LR7 come out I will upgrade.

Since I got the A99M2, I have been using Cap1 for RAW processing of A99M2 files only, and LR5 for additional PP, and Other camera RAW processing

If LR7 does not arrive, will pay for Cap1 Pro and move all processing to Cap 1.

You are very welcome!

On article DPReview Asks: What was your first camera? (766 comments in total)

Very early 70's as a young teeneager it was a Kodak Instamatic, I believe a 33 or 133. After that around 1974 I purchased a Zenit E.

Pretty much as shot. Actually reduced the blue saturation slightly, otherwise just exposure and contrast adjustments.

How about three new Zeiss prime E-mount lenses to go with it?

Nice shot. I personally would have preferred it without the runners. I know you would have to change the name, but I think it's a great picture by itself.
