Pick the one with the least sections, the working height you need and the folded size you can tolerate. I went with the 4 section (Series 5) as the 3 section was not tall enough.

I'm afraid so but hope not.

Opened the raw in LR the purple fringing is barely visible. I guess its Adobe's camera profile …

It is just a picture of the Sony/Zeiss 35mm 1.4, everybody can see that. If it was a GM lens the "GM" would be at least included in the name.
-
You keep posting this picture of the Sony/Zeiss 35mm 1.4 claiming it to be the new GM lens (actually jb502 posted the picture, sorry) while the focus and aperture ring are clearly different from ...

You are right, i got it mixed up, thanks.
-
The A7 III does not have realtime eye AF, so at least this part does not work.
-
You might be right that it is the 35mm GM. The lens hood does not look like UWA. If it is on par with the other latest Sony lenses (sharpness, coma, flare) I might get it instead of the Sigma 35mm ...

Just watched the DPRTV Z 7II review and at the end a lineup of the high-res bodies for the next video is shown with the Sony's lens blurred. I wonder which lens it is, the 35mm GM or 16mm GM. Red ...

Then one is a rectangular 12mm (18mm fov) lens with roughly 90° aov and the other is a 12mm (12mm fov) with roughly 180° aov, very different lenses! You can defish the fisheye but it will leave you ...

Do you mean the 12mm 2.8 fisheye lens?

Ok thanks, I was looking for a comparison how other copies perform. Just stars corner to corner, no pp.

Did you try it for the stars, can you post a sample?

The nodal point is at the rotational (panning) axis , so you have to measure from the object to the middle of the tripod.
-
I think you need to measure from the optical centre of the lens (nodal point) rather than the end of the lens or sensor plane.
-
Just a wild guess, sensor reflection of the moon with the PDAF lines showing? But still wondering why it isn't on any other picture …

With USB-LUN set to multi you should get both cards mounted with one connection (and a third volume, pm_home or something).

I don't know how close the action may get but Tamron 70-180 or Sigma 24-70 were my first thought, possibly Sony 135 GM.

I have the Kirk foot, not as expensive as RRS but with a QD socket as well as arca swiss dovetail. Longer than the original foot thus easier to carry the lens by the foot.
