I use SwitchResX for display scaling on Macs and it’s an excellent program. You can choose just about any resolution and refresh rate (that your monitor supports obviously).

"At F1.2, this puts it squarely in line with Canon’s $2599 RF 85mm F1.2 L USM lens and comes in 1/3EV faster than Sony’s $1799 85mm F1.4 GM G Master lens." This should be 1/2EV, not 1/3.

A 12-100 f/1.2 would probably be closer to $6k+ than 2k. The 10-25 is $1800 already. Hell, that's way faster than almost any FF zoom lens *at equivalent apertures* with the exception of the Canon...

I like the focus clutch of the 12-40, which always made me choose it over the 12-35 for video. I wish they had redesigned this one with the same clutch (like their 10-25 and 25-50 f/1.7 lenses...

wow you said something racist and it was super original, congrats on that

I’d probably (probably) get the Tamron myself because it’s a 24-105 equivalent and 24-70 lenses have never been my bag (much prefer 24-105 or 24-120 in Nikon’s case). But the Sigma is $250 cheaper...

The 18-35/1.8 has to be one of the most popular lenses they make, I’d bet it’s the most popular Art lens at least. Super popular with videographers too. They’d be dumb not to make a mirrorless...

What the hell is everyone talking about An APS-C lens does not need to be "1.5 times sharper" than a FF lens. Put a lens on the a7R IV or a7R V, then put the same lens on a Fuji X-T4. It'll be...

(also this 40MP APS-C sensor has a smaller pixel pitch than most M4/3 - GH6 sensor is a tiny bit smaller - and about equivalent to 90MP full-frame)

I agree, I never really thought of this as something for detail. I guess it would have been best, in hindsight, to use something like a Zeiss ZF.2 50mm Makro Planar and adapt it to (almost) all of...

I honestly doubt there are very many, if any, lenses that would induce moire on a 40MP APS-C sensor, whether it's X-Trans or not. That's why I wish they'd have gone with a Bayer array for the H2...

"35 f/1.4: Nice character, but awful autofocus motor. Have a look at the PL 25mm f/1.4 for a comparison. The PL has wonderful rendering, a fast focusing motor and is parfocal." How is the 35/1.4...

Most of these seem quite close and exactly like how you'd use a 400mm lens... a few landscape photos but I don't see a problem with that. Telephotos are great for landscapes.

@RandyPD Overcoming a limitation does not mean it isn't a limitation anymore unless it's a one-and-done deal. If more effort and engineering have to go into designing certain lenses, then that will...

These are the best SOOC JPEGs I've seen from Sony and among the best I've seen period. They're incredibly detailed and sharp, but not artificially oversharpened or aggressively denoised. I have no...

Literally no one here said that Sony made anything other than great products. This arguing about brands is so dumb. All the brands today are making great cameras and great lenses and all have...

TRU is correct on both counts - the Sony lenses are still large in diameter, they just flare out from the mount, while Nikon lenses are just a consistent diameter barrel. Also correct on focus...

@MikeRan "Interestingly in the Nikon articles the Nikon fanboys complain about the Sony guys showing up. But I don’t see any of the Sony guys complaining about the Nikon guys showing up. I guess...

Whether or not it’s an advantage (it objectively is, but that doesn’t mean that the inherent performance is better - it’s two different companies with different tech)… how tf is it a liability?

lol people actually in here defending what is largely just a rebadged camera. Can’t even put the new menu in it, that’s just pathetic. Again, I own the OM-1 (and E-M.3). I love the system. There...
