Post FW v1.2 update, my G9 seems to pull up image review a bit quicker than before.  Is anyone else seeing this or am I experiencing confirmation bias?

It's definitely not a gimmick. It works well and shoots and processes quickly - just make sure you're shooting a static scene and you're golden. I've also used it with an ND filter on waterfalls ...

I have Sandisk Extreme Pro UHS-2 32GB cards in slot 1 and 2 and there is a very long and annoying playback delay, sometimes almost two seconds.

Good point. I imagine I’ll get the S1 and 50/1.4 first since I don’t have a comparable lens for my G9 and keep using the G9 until I’ve built up a suitable lens lineup.

This is how the G9 should have looked. While I like the ergonomics of mine, the design has some weirdness to it, like the ridge on the EVF hump.

IMO the S1/S1R targets those users first and foremost.  I don't expect many GH5/GH5S owners to be interested given the known video specs.

Similar to the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 on APS-C in how it's a large, high quality lens that can replace several small lenses, but with the added benefit of a real wide end.  Bravo!
