Yes, if it’s the dedicated FE version, I find very strange that it behaves like described, it should be at least decent in that regard. Anyway I would expect that the native 200-600 would be ...

Well, the Sony is only 3 cm longer than the Sigma Sport (so probably equal including the MC-11 adapter) and more than 700gr lighter, so guess you will be better off even under that point of view ;)

Hi, with the Sony 200-600 being so good for what it costs (especially used), I wouldn't bother with anything else, in particular if adapted. I recall having the 150-600 C and never managed to focus ...

Thank you, yes it's really a pretty good lens, especially considering the good price it can be found used. But honestly for me the real surprise was the 50-150 OS, which is not so easy to come by ...

Thank you, here you go. Colors were quite drab in that one to begin with, so I thought a BW conversion would have been a better choice to reinforce the contrast between the snowy and the rocky parts.

Sigma SD Quattro + 18-35 F1.8 Art + 50-150 F2.8 EX OS (old, slow focusing, but a still pretty amazing lens optically)

I use my "Beast" all the time with my D810 and it never let me down, still has pretty good optics, even if it's not the sharpest game in town (but plenty sharp for landscaping when stopped down). I ...

Never tried directly a GFX50 (nor a GFX100) and I'm sure they are pretty darn good cameras, but with the right lenses I get such amazingly detailed pictures already from my SDH that I really ...

Too late for you decision, guess anyway you'd have been well served by both the DP3m and DP3q, with a slight preference for the former for B/W shooting and for the latter for color shooting. If you ...

Agree with everything has been mentioned so far, in my humble opinion, the only 80-200 F2.8 still worth buying could be the AF-S version, which was optically redesigned to deliver the goods also ...

For what I know, the DP1 have always been pointed as the weakest of the whole DP lineup in terms of attached lenses. It was for sure like that for the Merrills, not sure about the Quattros, but in ...

The 180 F2.8 it's an excellent lens for what it costs used, that's a given.

Great shots! Shooting birds on a Foveon camera it's a challenge in the challenge of birding itself :-) I've just gotten a 100-400 to try out my luck at nature photography with the SD Quattro, which ...

Sure color modes make a huge difference, on the Merrills I almost always shoot Vivid, which I definitely prefer to Standard as a starting point, while on the Quattros I usually shoot Standard with ...

The DP3m to me appears to have the best colors of all the Merrills out of the box, it looks like Sigma tweaked something in it. But usually I still prefer Quattros’ colors as a starting point in SPP.

Guess the point was that Foveon-based cameras are much less forgiving that Bayer ones in terms of under/overexposure (depending on the sensor version). If you add a general sluggishness in terms of ...

Thank you all for the support and pointers, I bought from Japan and usually I have had on average good experiences with them, they tend to care quite a bit to their gear (although this doesn’t ...

Just bought a DP2s from Japan, it will be the first pre-Merrill Sigma camera that I'll delve my teeth into, curious to see those colors everyone seem to rave about, even if 4MP in 2022 sounds ...
