But hey that's what happens when there's no new cameras or lenses to write about

Yeah I usually don't mind a fun fact/story, just found the whole debate to be far fetched. I don't think this deserves attention on the excellent photo news platform DPReview otherwise is.

Camera bodies are overrated... I am very surprised not to see more than 4 lenses showed here, not to mention the presence of phones in these awards: totally useless on a photography news site. To me the 28-70 f2 or 50 f1.2 should get the awards. Not bashing Sony or Nikon here, they make great lenses too.

Marc dbr: As a former owner of the version 1 they upgraded this lens significantly to the point I may be interested in getting it

Why do you think that? the version 1 stayed at 1100 for more than 10 years

As a photographer I don't want to be noticed all that much with these white lenses. So what I do is I cover my white lenses with tape so they don't stand out any more. I really don't get why canon even considers making the lens WHITER as part of an UPGRADE...

I wish Canon will bring out this lens with a nice red ring on it...

Oh wow! It blows the 1DX mark ii out of the water now!

*sarcasm*

I would rather see an update of the 135mm lens though

Time to ditch the IS II 😂

Marc dbr: Funny awards... the 5D mark IV and 1DX mark II are not even mentioned while those two cameras are what most professional photographers use.

You're right didn't think about that.

This is one of the main reasons why people want to spend the extra money on well built high end cameras. It is underestimated, but in my opinion build quality and weather resistance are far more important than dynamic range and ISO performance

Amazing camera capable of getting stunning results. Just ignored by all the Dynamic range obsessed people on the forum...

Thomas Kachadurian: Someone at DPR needs to put the lid on the medicinal pot. There's some serious incoherence in these lists. The Lumix G9 makes the high end list at $1,699, but the Canon 6DII is midrange at $1699? Interestly, they're pretty similar in features and capabilities too?

The 6D is not high end, it is meant for enthusiasts in the market for a first FF camera
