maboleth: I have absolutely no plan to switch to RF anytime soon. And I do photography professionally. Both 5d4 and 90d and EF lenses do the job very, very nicely.

Sad thing is, Canon could upgrade its DSLR cameras with the technology they built for RF cameras. Similar like they did in 90D - super fast and accurate LV focusing with eye-detection, focus peaking etc. Same thing could be built for the next 5dmk5. But no. They want to push and force an overpriced RF line.

The R5 is so much better than the 5D mark IV.
Of corse the 5D IV can everything you want for your work..but mirrorless is the future and i'm glad Canon is back on top.
And when it's your work...every four year a new cam is not so bad.

Funny Valentine: when viewing at 100% it's not as sharp as the A7III. How come a 45 megapixel sensor suffers more than a 24 megapixel sensor at 100% ?

It's the jpg engine..download the raws and look again...

PhotoKhan: There's a softness in these 100MP+ shots that I can't quite figure if it comes from the camera or the lens.

...a bit disappointing, in either case...

Download the raw file(second pic) and import it in Lightroom, you will by amazed by the fine detail.

Pix Man: The whole subscription strategy is flawed. This is a mechanism through which manufactures like Adobe will kidnap your photographs and let you continue to be able to see and edit them if you pay them the required (monthly) ransom. I moved to Capture One instead. BTW it is much better, with a seriously good RAW engine which makes Adobe CR seem decidedly second rate. Goodbye Adobe. My photos are mine not yours.

I think Adobe just want to provide a service and it can be nice when you are working on different places over the world(like I do) and you can make back ups and easy acces to your pics when you are by a client.
But I really don't like what they are doing with the pricing...still happy with adobe but this...

Love the colors...but...looks like of some sort of noise reduction in the iso 100 shots ..not so much detail, must be lightroom or so.
But the future look good..no more mirrors:)

Bershatsky: Windows 10, 8700K, 1080 Ti, 64GB Ram, NVME, etc. and it's SLOW!!!

Neat features, but SLOW!!! Glitchy!

Tried it on my 2017 15" Macbook Pro - guess what? Slow also!

Capture one is indeed better, but slow to update and support new cameras, they are feuding with Fuji over the GFX, and their catalog sucks, but at least editing is better.

I will NOT be renewing my Adobe subscription (that is if Capture One will support my new camera or not by then).

no problems here..

DBCossini: That is all fine and dandy, but what about making a full frame camera that comes near the Nikon D850, that blows away anything Canon makes? What happened to you Canon??? your sensors are pure crap for todays standards.

I think the strongest point of the 5D IV is the (live view)touch focus...it's insane good and changed the way i work with primes..can not do that with the 850..

Ok tell me what can you do with a D850 and not with a 5D markIV...ok maybe more pixels..and that's all..

The Name is Bond: The 'ambient' pic example is just very underexposed. A half-decent modern APS-C with a larger aperture lens can do justice to that shot without needing the underexposure.

May be i don't get it..but when you raise the iso..for exposing the face good..then the exposure of the background will be to bright..that's why use of flash is so nice...expose for the background and fill in the foreground..

Than is the background overexposed...is all about to balance the light for the background and foreground

pahnson: Why didnt win sony this as well? Its the best brand ever. Canons dslrs are all jokes. No swivel screen or this and that! 30mpixel is laughable in 2017! incredible poor decision! /s

I am a pro and shoot canon..and have 10 k in lenses..i think probably a lot more:)
I think you did not understand what i mean..my fault mine english is not so good.
I just get sick of people bashing eachother over there camera systeem..as i said before the camera systems at the moment are so good..that when your pictures not good it's not the camera.
Still in love with Canon by the way..love the lenses and the reliability of the 1DX and the 5D markIV.
